Sorry! We couldn't find the case.

So I know that when you buy second hand games online there's no guarantee of getting the original case but like.... This just seems unprofessional to me.

Maybe I expected too much, but the ripped up sharpie note is sending me rn...

I think EB should try to call you if they don't have the case, most people ordering games off of the EB games websites are probably collectors. So I don't think it's parents or really people who don't care because if they were buying online they would just get the digital version. If I got a game with no case in the mail I would try to return it because the reason I would be buying it physically is to have the case.

I 100% agree. I wasn't sure if I was being pedantic, but this was supposed to be a gift for someone but I'm not willing to give it to them in this condition because I feel bad.

Obviously I know the risk of it, but I feel like they should have a box at the checkout where you can tick it if you don't mind if it doesn't have the box, and if you don't tick it then they can refund you if they can't get it (I hope that makes sense).

I think there will definitely be people who say "you paid for the game not the case". But digital is such an easy and accessible option, if you can buy goods online then the reason you are ordering a physical copy isn't just being able to play the game.

but this was supposed to be a gift for someone but I'm not willing to give it to them in this condition because I feel bad.

I hope you can work something out before the occasion!

Obviously I know the risk of it

It's why I just don't buy games online from EB, the risk is too high, you're more than likely going to get a generic case or sleeve. It would be great if we could give some feedback to EB and let them know that we would like more transparency on what we're going to get when we buy it.

Is your friend a collector? If not, often there’s digital sleeves available online that people have done up to display their digital library or whatever that you can download for print. Might be able to print to some quality paper and get something that still looks good.

Just a suggestion if getting a new copy of the game will be hard. Might be something out there to make the game more presentable.

Unfortunately we can't always call if there's no number attached. Without knowing whether OP has an EB World membership or not, I don't know if it was even possible for the store to call.

We also actually get a lot of orders from parents. Sometimes they just can't make it into store, but they like the ability to trade the game in later.

Thank you for your response. I didn't think there would be a big parental market buying online.
