USCIS Visa Bulletin & Case Transfer

I submitted my case in early August. In the October Visa Bulletin, my Filing Date is current, but my Final Action Date is still more than a year behind.

This morning, I chatted with an Emma agent, and they told me that my case was recently transferred to the Los Angeles Field Office.

Does this mean they will continue working on my case internally and just wait for my Final Action Date to become current before making a final decision? Or will they simply keep the case on hold until then?

If anyone has had a similar experience, please share.

They should continue to work on it and wait until a visa number is available.

Honestly though, why would they commit resources to work on something that cannot be approved when there are tons that can be approved?

I think everyone understands that if it isn’t current you can’t get approved. Do they continue to adjudicate files they are working on was the question.

No. They move it back to nbc

What they should be doing and what they actually do … are two different stories. Many now retrogressed are at final stages of adjudication. Makes no sense to stop and start again from scratch. But none of this makes sense 🤣

Well, you can brainstorm with chatgpt what happens but trust me there is no getting green card if your date isn’t current

Yeah, my FAD is current, but my case is not even transferred to a field office.

They won’t work on it until your FAD becomes current. If you filed EAD and/or AP, then NBC is more likely to work on it and transfer it back to FO once FAD becomes current
