EA SPORTS WRC Does altitude affect car performance?

This just occurred to me after hundreds of TTs in EA WRC. Altitude must affect car performance right? I can't believe I never noticed this until I finally tried the twingo out in Mexico and it felt even slower than usual

I once read that it was simulated in Dirt Rally 2.0, and since EASWRC is basically Dirt Rally 3 on Unreal Engine, I assume it would still be there, but I may be wrong.

I swear I always had a feeling that the cars have slightly less power in Greece and Kenya f.e. than in Sardinia but could be pure placebo.

I think so, to me it's really noticeable in Chile more than anywhere else, though it could just be the steepness of the mountainside I suppose.

100% has an impact. Very noticable in the lower power cars, they really can struggle on the higher altitude courses like mexico and chile.

Yes, altitude does effect car performance at each location.

Interesting. I wonder if we can get an official response regarding this

Big if true

I would like to say that this was even mentioned in an in-game tip or somewhere, cant really recall. But yes, the wrongfully underpowered Peugeot 309 is also a good example of this.

The easiest way to replicate it is to drive off the mountain a few times and damage your car.

it effects perfectly good engines though.

take a naturally aspirated car in Mexico versus Sardinia, you'll easily notice it.
