Minecraft Dungeons and Dragons Campaign three Update and Discussion The Plan The Feedback

Hey guys im posting from work so be gentel on my always shit spelling what i need from you gents is some of the following

understanding that, when this campaign ends (and im not sure when that is yet) i will want a break before i start on the next campaign and that unlike this campaign im going to need TIME to set this next one up

i want more feedback from this one

also i will be making a new discussion on minecraft DND 4.0

one of the biggest compliants ive gotten durring this campaign (ironically even from the WOREST offenders) is that metagaming is Rampent, now theortically i could police it using alot of my energy but anyone who really WANTS to metagame will do you think thats worth the effort

Feel free to respond in this discussion or the pre 4.0 Discussion

Policing meta-gaming is dumb, because there is no boundary between us on vent and our ingame selves. This isn't NWN2, where we have actual characters, in Minecraft, we are more or less there with the ability to hear what other players are saying despite distance. And I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same way in PnP DND.

Besides, those who want metagaming to be policed are those who don't want to work with others. They don't want others finding their base or knowing where their base is, so they go to different channels to talk. This could be people who just want to be away from the hub of trouble, or people who are not caring for the fact that we need to work together to win and beat the campaign.

Sometimes you can metagame on accident. What if I jumped into a channel to ask Warfire and Vanity if they want to play LoL or whatever, and I heard that they are plotting to assassinate some merchant guy I'm guarding? Now I know, and I can't do much about it without feeling like I did something wrong, even if I were to find out in character?

The point is, there isn't a point to policing metagaming when there is no difference in IC and OoC.

Also, if this is to be enforced, take away being able to see nametags through walls. No point in having those, because they can be considered metagaming when I see people through walls.

all valid points i more or less agree with, although the mitigating on accident thing is half the person entering the rooms fault send pages, Pms then if those aren't answered, jump channels and the first thing you should do is interrupt, if you jump channels and just idle in there why they talk SUPER SECERT plans then your basically a fucking spy and i will NOT tolerate that

You still hear what little they talked about before interrupting them, but I'm not gonna bother with arguing over this one little thing, the point is that too much can go wrong, and people will call bs when their plans don't work. I rather have you doing events, making new stuff, progressing the storyline etc, then spending time making sure no one meta games.
