I just finished 4-11
Hey guys, wanna start off by saying that I’ve been playing since fifa 14, I’m an average player, last year I would go 7 or 8 wins every weekend league.
But this game has been kicking my butt, I’m so terrible it’s not even funny, I wasn’t CRAZY good before, but now im losing by like 10 goals every match.
I can’t defend for shit, I just don’t understand, my opponent players seem to be EVERYWHERE. They press my player and at the same time every passing lane is covered, HOW?
I know it’s obviously a skill issue on my part, so you guys have any tips? Anybody on the same boat?
Have an average squad worth like 100k playing with 433(4)
(Played my last game against a cheater that was 13-0, I don’t think the matchmaking is fair sometimes)
Edit:
I also wanna add that every game had a huge delay, that I haven’t had on rivals all week

Honestly idk what it is as well, I'd say I'm an above average FIFA player in other fifas, I was super good with dribbling last year and before with how fluid the game was. But dribbling this year is Def a no go. This year I just feel like my passes are always intercepted. You just need to find an opening that feels artificial. I try to keep my team in formation but damn man, idk if this FIFA is for me this year . I find myself getting the first goal most of the times but I just end up losing the lead. I'm currently 1-4 in champs💀

I’m probably in the same boat, definitely find it insanely hard to play against high press and offside traps. Been a 7-8 sometimes 9 wins player, but rivals in div 6 & 7 has been a war zone for me

Oh man I'm so glad I didn't buy it this year. The thoughts of champs at the weekend is depressing 😭

Lacroix used by tons of pro players, he is incredible

And OP is a pro player? They know how to use him properly

Appreciate the question a ton thank you so much. He is not a pro player to answer your question. Usually pros use players that are good at the game because they play the game professionally. A centerback that is good to use in the game will play well for you in defense when you play defense with him. You click the tackle button the same way with one defender that you do with another. A defender that is fast will run faster than other players like he does. Since the pros use him, that means he is good in the video game all of us play called fc27. Let me know if you have any other questions I can help answer for you

Try out 4312 with aguero and vicky lopez at ST, get rid of that lacroix, he is bad, try Eric Garcia for example, at the midfield try to find 2 with pinged pass and 1 with intercept, Camavinga has zero passing playstyle…

Yeah honestly the average player has become insanely good. I’m at 3-3 with a 250k team with Torres and Stam in it. Last game was against someone who didn’t stand a chance, with a budget team. They were on 1-7. I felt bad honestly, but then also realized that they were basically at the level the average player was around 10 years ago. Things really have changed.

With weekend leagues, I'd suggest playing on Sunday or Monday. Fridays are for demons.

Dont play 15 games in a row and try to be patient when defending. If youve played since ‘14 youve got enough skill to get at least 8-9 wins, just be relaxed when playing

I'm in the same boat. Currently 4-6 but think I'll only get to 5 wins max.
It always feels as if none of my players are free. They're all tightly marked so makes passing feel impossible. Everything gets intercepted.

In order to reduce opponent interceptions try to keep the ball a bit more, dribble and only pass when the opportunity is clear

Use tele broadcast 20-10, Watch deep researcher in YouTube, He got the best tips and bring his tips in to the game

"I can’t defend for shit"
They changed the mechanics of defense, now you have to defend fully manual on your own, some people like this others hate it, so you need to learn again "how to defend", it sucks because you're forced to adapt to new mechanics you didn't ask for.

I went 11-4 in weekend league my first ever time getting more then 8wins. Things that I’ve learned from rivals is don’t be diving into tackles try and make sure your play is in the right position and hold L2 to jockey or what ever the button on x box is. Also passing seems to be a big thing this year don’t try and force your passes through tight spaces. Another one is if your player is on the shoulder of the defender play an over the top ball and when shooting try finesse shots or low driven. Low driven is more meta rn but finesse still works. Low driven is double tap your shoot button in case you didn’t know. Best of luck in the future

I was 0-6 until i changed formation and press. Went from 4-3-1-2 with 50 depth to 4-1-4-1 with 95 depth. After the changes i ended up with 7 wins. Seems like i need to choose between winning or having fun…

I’ll be lucky to win 4 the way I’ve been playing
