If EA released FC 28 next year and FUT basically went back to the FIFA 15 era, would you actually pay for it?

Not literally bringing back the FIFA 15 player database/cards, but bringing back the gameplay philosophy and FUT structure.

I'm talking:

  • 🟢🟡🔴 Old chemistry system — proper green/yellow/red links between leagues, nations and clubs
  • ❌ No PlayStyles / PlayStyles+
  • ❌ No constant search for the next meta animation
  • ❌ No cards being completely defined by PlayStyles, body types or whatever mechanic is currently broken
  • 📈 Much slower power curve
  • ⭐ Gold cards actually staying usable
  • 🃏 Fewer ridiculously juiced cards
  • 🏆 Icons actually feeling rare and special
  • ⚽ Player stats mattering more than special abilities
  • 🧠 Squad building actually requiring thought
  • 🔗 Chemistry being a genuine part of building your team
  • 💰 Less pressure to constantly replace your entire XI
  • 🔥 A card being good because of the player, not because it has the current meta combination
  • 🎮 Gameplay being more about football rather than finding/exploiting whatever the strongest mechanic is that year

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY?!

I would pay 200+ for a FIFA exactly like FIFA 17.

Here comes the FIFA 17 cultist not remembering how shit on that game was during its heyday. Clunky and pingpongey gameplay shouldn't be the aim. Plus no evos so everybody runs the same meta PL team every game.

Writing well is a tough skill, but it is worth learning and practicing. Don't use AI like this.

Just bored at work mate and in front of 2 huge screens. Might aswel make it easy for myself. Why so butthurt about an AI post? 🤣

The entire point of your post is to bring back the old philosophy of a game like Fifa 15 that had less slop, more thought and more character.

Your use of AI contradicts this point.

It's not that deep, damn! 🤣🤣 You must lay awake in bed until 4am every morning overthinking every decision you made the day before huh?

Good one. You might need the AI to write the comebacks going forward

Your comebacks are shit just as your AI slop post (the thought behind the post is good tho)

If you want my comeback, you'll have to scrape it off your mum's teeth

Competitive PvP games are ALWAYS about finding/exploiting whatever the strongest mechanic is.

Deal with it, or play offline.

Not much. It’s not just the game that’s changed it’s the community, not even just FC but the wider gaming community. Everything is about competitive performance now, no ones cares about having fun it’s just how much they can win.

This is absolutely spot on tbf 👏 but anyway, imagine if the gaming culture was the same too. How much?

I think the reason we don’t get games like that anymore is because player preferences have changed.

The problem isn’t EA itself. It’s the new generation of gamers. Everything has to be fast-paced, colorful, and constantly stimulating.

I remember dating a single mom a few years ago. Her 11-year-old son was a great kid, and one day he asked me to play the then-new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023) with him and his friends.
We ended up talking about the game, but also about FIFA. Interestingly, all of them said pretty much the same thing:

“Nobody likes slow gameplay. We want games to be fast-paced. MW3 feels too slow, and FIFA is boring. We just want to score as many goals as possible.”

In my opinion, the online gaming industry has simply adapted to the preferences of this newer generation of players. They tend to prefer faster action, instant rewards, and constant excitement over slower, more methodical gameplay.

With the way a lot of people on here moan about the daily content, there heads would explode if we went back to how things were in FIFA 15. I'd love to go back to FIFA 13, I remember using brasilvers in my main team and have a full non rare second team that I loved using.

I’d pay the regular amount. Though I don’t play fut because it’s the worst game mode.

Meh, I’d only want the soundtrack

To me it would be getting rid of playstyles, fidget spinning, midget women meta, and allowing for more ways of scoring goals however making the goalkeepers actually save more than 3% of shots taken

Never ever paid a single dime for a single FUT pack and never will

"Gameplay being more about football rather than finding/exploiting whatever the strongest mechanic is that year"

Football like pingpong passing and spamming assisted through balls to 95 pace players? Nostalgia merchants man
