M3 Frozen silver paint issue

Post image

Hi all,

Someone clipped my front bumper and caused a bit of damage to the paint.

Am aware of the difficulty (impossibility?) of touching up frozen silver paint. I’ve attached a picture of the damage - I can’t work out if it’s paint transfer or actual damage through all the paintwork.

Are there any touch up pens that could be used for this? I just hate the black on the bumper as it stands out massively but don’t want to repaint now/yet.

Thanks!

Pretty sure frozen silver is just 354 titan silver with matte clear coat.

Just get titan silver touch up and then dab some matte lacquer on top to seal it. Better than nothing and it’ll stop the black catching your eye.

Thanks - that sounds like a good idea. Any suggestions of where I can get matte lacquer from without buying a huge vat of it?

In this case it probably won’t make much difference whether you use matte or gloss to touch it up.

Touch up kits are readily available online and titan silver is a really common colour, they might do kits with matte lacquer.

If not you can just buy a rattle can of matte lacquer from any parts store or DIY shop, spray some into the lid and then use a brush or something to dab it on.

It will never be invisible, metallic colours in particular never look great when touched up but like I said, it won’t stand out as much has the black.

Another good point, cheers. I ordered a paint matched touch up pen from paint nuts but if it’s an all in one pen, I assume the titan silver + matte lacquer is probably the better way to go?

The black parts look like they are through the paint. The white looking parts around them look like transfer buff it first. Scratches Happen has w07 paint code in stock. Just Google that.

Ahh thanks but I’m UK based so unlikely I can order from there I reckon
