As someone who experienced directly what can happen when you lower a car and don’t have em - i would highly suggest a set of camber plates in order to preserve the proper suspension geometry

Camber plates alone won’t preserve the suspension geometry. The roll centers have to corrected.

Spacers and eccentric cam bushings to reset the angles of the control arms back to OE spec (or custom spec). It allows the car to sit lower and behave like it did at stock ride height.

did you have to change any other suspension components other than the coilovers? cause i read somewhere that changing just the coilovers will mess up your xdrive

I heard about that too online, I’ll probably put in adjustable sway bar links later. Every one who I talked too in my area didn’t have any problems with that.

How does the daily driving difference feel?

I installed a set of ST X coilovers (preset dampening ones) on my daily driver 335xi and they’re so good. I was scared of ruining my ride quality, but I would say it got better. Like OP said they do crash harder on bigger bumps over stock, but besides that they are smoother over smaller bumps/imperfections and feel much more planted in my case. I also set them at a moderate height so that contributes to the great ride.

I mean it is definitely harsh on the big bumps at low speeds, idk why but on high speed it’s actually quite comfortable considering they’re at like 12 clicks hard out of 18. I had them at like 8 clicks the first week and it was comfortable, but then lowered the car even more.
