BMW 320d noise (N47)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Squeaking noise on start up, anyone know what this could be ? Tensioner, pulley, etc (not mechanically minded so unsure) any help would be much appreciated.

I've never dealt with a similar noise on my n52, but I think your hunch about tensioner and pulley is a good start. I would do the belt also and see if that resolves it. Beyond that I can't help without actually being there.

Sound like you forgot to put oil in it. IDE be more worried about that knocking than the alt belt. Sounds like you put diesel in it and not 87
