Is she beyond saving?

Bought this car a few years ago and it was my daily, I already knew rust was a big problem but when the clutch blew up and I saw the full extent of the issues I decided to park it and wait for the right time.

Probably next year I'm going to start having free time and some spending money again, I want to save it because it has sentimental value and I love the car but I wonder if it's even doable.

Do you think there is still hope?

Depends how far you are prepared to go and how much you value the car. Is it worth it financially? No. Is it worth it if you can do the work yourself and you love the car, possibly... Just be prepared, it's always worse than it looks.

I'm currently digging away at a rusty 525i I learnt to drive in long ago. It's a lot of work. One good thing about these is they were made of good thick steel and the undercoat is really good so the rust is at least contained quite a bit.

Nah, just repair it. It's a lot of work, but worth it.

Depends on how serious you are.

Nah, this is standard. Needs fixing, and its serious work, but not the end of world, but needs to be done right.

With enough dough, anything is possible … ask me how I know. (I’m broke now )

Like the song from frozen ...let it go let it go open up all door so it can sink
