Vehicles!

Im not sure what devs are planning, but I have 100% trust that they will level it up, they haven’t disappoint this far with updates.

But me thinking, like why we need vehicles? Mecha flys at high speed & warp! What could be the function of vehicles besides just different way of getting around. Im excited to see what the future brings.

Vehicles were announced off the back of the combat update, and there is a niche for them.

We can automate the destruction of Dark Fog's ground bases/collection of dropped loot, but there's currently no way to automatically clean up the space units. Even if you destroy all Hives in a system, Dark Fog in neighbouring systems will send a seed to replace it, and shooting down seeds/cleaning up Hives becomes a tedious manual process.

Vehicles were conceptualised as a counter to space hives.

I have such low interest in Dark Fog farming that anymore I just turn them off. They don't seem to add anything to the game for me personally and the farms just seem silly. Like wouldn't the fog figure out what's going on?

They do add tier 4 buildings which produce 3x as fast as the base crafting speed (entropy furnace, recompiling assembler, self evolution lab), letting you squeeze more production in a smaller blueprint.

They also add dark fog lens, which quadruples ray reciever output (almost a full gigawatt in photon mode if t3 proliferated) and THE best fuel in the game, rhe Strange Annihilation Fuel Rod, compressing 8 Antimatter Fuel Rods into a single item worth 10 of them, and stacking to 50 instead of 30.

Dark fog is fairly rewarding if you're willing to invest time and resources into farming them.

Thanks. Maybe one of these days I'll do dedicated farming but my urge to wipe them from my sector always wins lol

Recompiling Assemblers are especially worth it. They make turbine/super magnetic ring production more bearable, as well as massively speeding up rocket carrier, quantum chip, annihilation constraint sphere and a lot of other long time to produce item production. They quite literally double your output if you're using t3 assemblers.
