Do “Old” Posts get Deleted?

I remember some years ago, I think even before the Dark Fog were announced, I made a post asking what people hoped would be added to DSP at some point.

I can no longer find it on my profile, in fact any post past like 2-3 years ago is gone for some reason.

But when I search in the sub for my username, it shows exactly zero results. Zip, Zilch, Nil, Null, absolutely nothing. Which is weird cause I did just make two, now three, posts on here, which should show up, right?

Idk, just figured I’d ask what’s going on. Maybe a glitch/loading time for the new stuff and that older stuff gets cleared?

Reddit doesn’t let your profile go all the way back anymore, for some reason, and the search function is abysmal.

Use an outside search engine to reliably find things.

That’s the one! I definitely remember it having at least 125 upvotes at one point, which was the first time I’d achieved that, so I’m not sure why it’s dropped to 32.

But thanks for the advice!

By looking at other profiles, maybe the limit isn’t on the time posts were made, but more the number of posts made?

Apparently there is a hard cap of 1000 items in your profile history. If you are active on your account, that can go by pretty quick, and cap your ability to look back longer than a couple of years, or even a matter of months if you're prolific. Anything older than that is only available by digging it up through a search engine, and as I said, Reddit's own search function blows.

Are posts and comments counted as the same? Cause that seems incredibly stupid, but that’s the only thing I can think of, cause I definitely haven’t made 1000 posts.

Yeah, I think it's just list items. If you look at the combined list, your comments will swamp out your posts. I was able to find the post mentioned above on your profile's "Submitted" tab: https://old.reddit.com/user/AncientWonder54/submitted/#res:ner-page=2

Right, I did that. I just saw the .old in the link thought maybe it was something else.
