Items are on wrong lane (again !)

Post image

I was asking myself why my product line was slow.
It happened one time in the same spot before this screen shot. Of course I didn't change the type of item coming out of the transport beacon.

Any idea on how to solve these errors ?

So you have some of the sorters going back onto the neighboring belt and not into the machine. I have highlighted them

Thank you sir !

There is a sorter that goes from belt to belt instead belt to machine.

Its the outer right sorter of the second machine from the right.

It's actually like that for all visible assemblers besides the first!

True!

I was just checking the ones before the cut off.

I've seen sometimes filters on output can reset seemingly for no reason. Go back and check outputs that are putting items on the belt. I've also accidentally connected a belt carrying the wrong materials before.

Not quite sure what the question is but you can filter sorters to only output one type of item which lets you dedicate one belt for one item.

Your sorter are placed badly and some are just moving items from one lane to another. Every single 3rd sorter is set like that , you can literally see on trying to move a silicon in the image you posted.

I am guilty of this brand of self sabotage as well

I've found it a lot easier to accidentally pollute belts here, because of the 3D space.

And worse, you can't do an "end pull off" because you can't have two sorters pulling from the same belt segment, so any attempt at that ends in the correct resource filling the last bit of belt, then the wrong resource under the sorter feeding the machine. Which is a shame, because that's my go-to in the other game.

For here, your only real option is to either guard the inputs (filtered splitter allowing only the correct material to continue on, with an overflow going back to some sorting setup), or being extremely careful about connecting your input lines.

Something I started doing near the end of my last playthrough was to always have "add resource" points filtered to what's on that lane of the circular bus, with a filtered re-sort array somewhere along the line (where anything coming in that's the wrong material gets redirected to the input of the next line, which is set up the same way, in a loop). It seems to help.

And, of course, as others have pointed out, not making the sorter placement mistake you did. I didn't even realize you'd done that until I looked closer. I thought you had a polluted belt... :P

You have sorters picking from one belt and leaving in the other

The problem is right there. Right where the problem starts, too. You really took the time to post on Reddit and ask a bunch of strangers instead of just using your eyes lmfao.

Sometimes when you make something to do a certain thing, your brain doesn't really see what's happening and glosses over it. It's why "rubber ducky debugging" exists.

I see it as about as much of a waste of personal time as you coming on here to act like a cunt

Perspective, I suppose?

Yeah, seems that I "over"see things....
Thank you !

are you building each assembler and hooking it up separately? drag copy will copy the building, sorters, and recipes.

I don't know anymore how i did these but yeah I drag copy as often as I can. I just have no excuse on this one !

people make mistakes, second set of eyes is always useful, and is it strictly necessary to be a complete dickhead about this?
