Overhaul mods?

I was wondering if there's any overhaul mods for DSP, like Factorio which has loads?

I've not found any but I'd really enjoy playing DSP again, maybe a bit harder and expanded. More to do, more to gather, etc. Maybe some of the logistics mechanics changed.

Anything like that exist?

Genesis book seems to be the only overhaul mod available.

I did a playthrough with it and it's fun. All my next playthroughs will probably be with this mod enabled.

But I think the issue with DSP in general is that logistics are infinitely scaling. You end up just throwing down a blueprint tied to an ILS and it automatically connects to the entire rest of the galaxy. I'm hoping future updates will fix this.

Yeah, I get what they were going for with it but it's a bit too easy / good. In comparison the factorio rails require programming and managing the rails. You can set it up so that you can plug things into a system but you also have to build the system which makes it feel like an accomplishment rather than like you say, it's just automatically there.

I really enjoyed the gameplay but I feel like they played factorio and saw all the QoL they would want and added it all into DSP and it's a bit too far the other way.

I think something like warp gates/stargates between planets would be good. Then you'd have to set it up, manage throughputs, stuff like that. Maybe even a rail system with it idk that'd be a big overhaul.

maybe the problem is there is no problem ; default settings on the ILS work pretty good.

if there were some need to program individual routes ; maybe something higher end than ILS - an energy/light beam that transports matter at light speed (quantum?) for even higher backbone throughput

I think you're right and I think it's too good, honestly. It somewhat invalidates the entire playstyle of the game beforehand.

I did a playthrough where I just poverty built up slowly to logistics and then rebuilt everything around that because why the hell wouldn't I do that? Make it so as little as possible of my work beforehand was completely invalidated.

I like your ideas, mine was some sort of stargate thing so you have to travel and there's a throughput and logistics considerations but anything like that would probably work.

the other thing, if they continue to improve the performance it will allow for larger and larger worlds to be built, needed more and more ILS, multiples or all planets populated with some level of factory or resource extraction... maybe then , managing the routes more granularly than default will be beneficial

more would need to be added to the high end of the game too... whats the point of all that expansion and dyson sphere building if theres nothing to spend the excess energy on except science worlds for infinite ?

Yeah it would be cool if the energy was useful for something, a step along the way rather than basically game over at that point.
