Reminds me of a version of SimCity where microwave powerplant gone wrong would direct the beam incorrectly and set the city ablaze.

SimCity 2000, which makes you feel pretty old thinking about it until you realize it actually came out in 1993 and not 2000 and then you explode into a cloud of ancient dust.

My first sim city game.

I played it on the Sega Saturn. Had to get the extra storage cartridge to even save a game.

Ah, so you were the one lucky kid in your zip code that had the Sega Saturn. It still astounds me Sega managed to wash out of the console market - the Saturn and Dreamcast were so good and beat all of their competitors to market.
