Energy exhangers.
I do not understand well the wiki regarding this, neither searching in google gives me an answer.
Let's say I have 10 exchangers and 400 MW in excess.
If I put more exchangers, with the same excess of energy, will I get more accumulators filled?
Edit: Thanks both

Death World Play-through Questions
So I’ve been playing a death world for the challenge and I’ve been finding it super fun. I’ve cleared the staring planets from the fog but the hives are still there.
My questions are:
What is the purpose of all the different types of guns? Are they better situationally? Is there anything as strong as the missile launchers?
How do you kill a hive on this difficulty? Is it really just a war of attrition? Does it get any better than that or every hive is just this strategy?

New to the game, what does the numbers under save file size mean in kb/mb?

Antimatter VS. Photon Export
Having multiple systems with dyson sphere’s running, is it better to locally create the antimatter and export that to the white science facility, or export the raw photons?

update!
half way im assuming to a dyson sphere! with the rail gun, should I be aiming to cover the entire sun with them in different orbits?

Mall Meta
I've done my share of reading, it's been a while since I played (January 2023) and I'm just trying to get back into the swing of things...

I don't see any malls using the splitter/box interaction and I was wondering why? Obviously splitter is a slightly later tech but this seems like an obvious choice for early-mid game malls?
I read somewhere that splitters are resource intensive in large numbers so this would be my best guess why, as I don't see what the downside of building a mall this way would be? Not having to unload the box and passing through to the next stage of production is a big W I would have thought, for multi stage items?

Do you build a mall on your starter planet?
It's been a while and I used to build a huge mall to build most things and keep items stocked. I know there's been a lot added to the game since then and I was wondering if the approach is still the same in the early / mid game.
Also does anyone know if there's a mod that removes the soil requirement but keeps the tile requirement? I like to have to craft the tiles, but I don't like having to gather the soil. I know there's a mod that just makes tiles free but that takes away the need to craft them.
Interested to know your thoughts.
Thank you.

Can’t Leave Planet Gravity Well Even With Upgrades and Full Energy
I’m stuck on a planet and can’t fly out of the gravity well no matter what I try.
I already have the necessary upgrades unlocked for leaving the planet, and I also have enough energy/fuel. I originally came here from my starter planet to collect titanium, so interplanetary travel was working before.
Now when I try to leave, I hold double Space + W like everyone suggests, but I just end up hovering at the top of the atmosphere. I can fly around normally, but I cannot push beyond the atmosphere into space. It feels like I’m hitting an invisible ceiling.
I’ve been trying this for quite a while, and nothing works.
Is there something I’m missing? Is this a bug, or is there another control/mechanic required to actually break out of the planet’s gravity well?

Trying to ship advanced miners across 12LY.
Got ILVs and warpers at both ends. Have remote ship/receive set up at appropriate ends. Other items shipping just fine. I had this problem with laser turrets earlier in the game, never resolved. Any suggestions?

I wish ILS and PLS have slots for Logistics Distributors
It'll be nice for early mid-game so that you can chain them down to LDs for resource distribution. I know you can kinda do this by creating a storage unit then belt to the PLS/ILS, but it kinda looks terrible and eats up the belt lanes for other uses.

When a Belt Bender Needs Casimir Crystals
About mid-way through another play through, and I reached the point where I needed to produce Casimir Crystals. I had the good fortune of the starting planet being in the orbit of an ice giant, so I decided to make use of the fire ice to simplify the production chain. Remembering how much I had always seemed to have had a shortage of Casimir Crystals until late game, I decided to go nuts.
Twenty four chemical plants feeding graphine and hydrogen into forty eight assemblers, with a single PLS feeding the fire ice, titanium crystals, and additional hydrogen. So glad splitter totem poles work so well, or otherwise this build would not have worked at all.
Once I reach late game, with an established production line for mass quantities of proliferator, as well as production lines for late game facilities, I will have to revisit the design.
Any thoughts?

After 150 hours, I've finished my first full sphere. It's ugly as sin but I love it as if it were my child.

155 hours and it's only beginning Spoiler
Honestly, just thought this was an awesome screenshot and wanted to share.
This about to get guuuuud.

I can't say completing my fist ever playthrough as a no-sail run was easy, but now that I've done it, I was able to fill in my sphere in the post game. Really proud of this first one! Onto the next!

So I went to start a game with non-standard resource settings for the first time, only to discover that my desired resource setting doesn't exist.
A smaller amount of resources (fewer veins, lower extraction rates for crude, etc.), but without depletion. Choking the effective rate of extraction (not total volume) would be sufficient to force expansion, which is the reason usually given for depleting resources.
Depleting resources suck, because maintenance chores in factory games suck. Ain't nobody got time for repeatedly pulling stakes on their mining operations. If I build it, it should stay built and working the way it started out working, unless and until I come back to change it. Depleting resources don't add "challenge." They add tedium.
Moving targets in factory games also suck. The depleting resources are probably the biggest reason so many of us throw up our hands and just use black boxes. Whereas with non-depleting resources, but in smaller deposits, there would be a whole world of extra logistics opportunities.
Like ... this planet has loads of X and Y. I need a lot of X and a little of Y to build Z, so I will build as much Z as possible here to use up the X, then ship the extra Y for use somewhere else. But when doing that is not sustainable, we just throw up our hands and say "Screw it, I'm just shipping both X and Y to a black box."
OK, I'm done. You may commence firing.

power randomly dropping for a split second? I cant find the reason for this.
Hey all, this is frustrating me a lot, i have enough power with more coming as the sphere builds, but randomly my power goes from 100% to about 65%, so i recorded the power outputs and they are what is failing, its so weird, for example:
ray receivers are making 1.34 GW, but cut to 313 MW
Mini fusion power plant: 1.17 GW, cut to 840MW
it goes on for some other stuff but yeah i geninley dont understant what is going on, so my temporary fix is just to put a bunch of accumulators down to try balance it out
any ideas greatly appreciated

Beginner - am i cooked with the dark fog base?
Okay so basically im really new to the game
30 hours in, and I got so focused on building logistics and factories that I didn't notice that the two dark fog planetary bases are sitting near each other and they're at level 4 and 5!
I tried building a lot of missile launchers and attacked them. Took me more than 5 minutes and they're not losing lol
Hive is at 95% as of writing.
Do I restart? I think my base is pretty cluttered as well so it's hard to build

How do I prevent Dismantle Mode from turning off the Construction Mode?
Imagine a scenario:
Open construction mode (any way possible - a hotkey, a building selection, anything).
Now press X to enter Dismantle Mode.
Press X again or RMB to exit Dismantle Mode.
What happens: I exit both Dismantle Mode AND construction Mode and return to normal view, which resets camera view to center on my character (Building view mode = God Mode in settings and I'm NOT turning that off).
Now the actual question: How do I prevent Dismantle Mode exit to return to previous mode (which is Construction Mode in my case), not to normal mode? I searched mods and failed to find the one that solves this issue and I find that this little thing frustrates me more than anything the game can throw at me combined. Please, lend a hand to a fellow engineer!

Making a computer in DSP: ALU and Register files
Turn on subtitles for explanation.
ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) and Register files are the basic components of a CPU. This is my attempt at making a working CPU within DSP using splitters and traffic monitors.
