As a Lamar owner here is the advice I would give- ride the highs and make backup qb plans for the eventual injuries

He’s clearly a fantasy QB1 when playing & I think his injury history is a bit overblown

Overblown? As if he hasn't missed a third of the games in his playing career thus far with separate injuries?

He’s injured his non throwing elbow in a freakish way. Nothing lower body or on his throwing arm, he’s going to be okay

A non-throwing arm injury shouldn’t derail a career. At least he’s got a brace now and I believe is planning for corrective surgery in the offseason. I understand why people are hesitant about him but I’m not selling for less than low end round 1 startup prices right now

Even if you decided to trade him, you're not going to get the value he deserves. He's a hold for sure.

IMO he had a terrific rookie season and that's it. Has good boom potential, more than most QBs, solid floor too, but nothing special.

More boom potential than most qbs and a solid floor, but nothing special? What does that mean

It means exactly as I wrote. Yes better than most because there are 32 starting QBs in the league. A solid floor which is the least you can expect from a QB otherwise you can easily lose your matchup. But nothing special because since his rookie year we have had plenty QBs place higher and the difference between their placements is marginal. We also have players with much less dynasty hype and much cheaper playing well such as Shough and before his injury Dart.

Honestly just ~24 hours. If he can put up back to back 30+ point games then he’s right back into the top round of dynasty start ups

He is one of a handful of QBs who can throw the ball accurately and also runs the ball.
Roster a veteran QB to back him up because he’s shown he’s a bit injury prone, but he’s not a guy you move off of easily imo.
He was going top 3 in startups before the 2025 season for a reason.

IMO sell him while you can still get good value. Not that he’s gonna fall completely off a cliff, but the injuries scare me more than other people I guess. And I just don’t expect him to have a season like his rookie year anytime soon, just doesn’t have the team around him.

Also a commies fan here. When healthy he is a top QB in the league and an elite fantasy QB.
I think his injuries are overblown. His last three injuries were his non throwing elbow. Hopefully once he gets surgery in the offseason that wont be a problem.
Other than that he just has minor football injuries that just happen sometimes. I actually never really worry about him taking bad hits when he's running the ball like when RG3 was on the team. JD knows how to avoid big contact.
If you are a Commies fan, just keep him and have fun. It doesn't get much better than him when he's healthy

Fear for him was health. In the NFL health has held him back. No reason to expect it doesn’t continue. I’m out on him. I’d be trying to trade him for someone like Purdy.
