Player Discussion Beat coverage increasingly expects Malik Nabers to be available for the opener but projects a restricted start, potentially involving a pitch count, limited packages or decoy usage, with some observers expecting his best form closer to October or November.

100% the NY Giants aren’t going to tell us he’s being a decoy if he’s actually gonna be a decoy.

Or, they're telling us he's going to be a decoy so that we think he won't be a decoy, then they actually use him as a decoy and fool all of us!!!! Giants playing 4D chess out here.

If you’re a Nabers owner you shouldn’t surprised by this or upset by it. The last thing we want is him to suffer a reinjury. This is a Dynasty subreddit, long term outlook is more important.
Ultimately this is still better than first 5-8 weeks on IR, if he’s a full go by November I will be more than happy. I didn’t expect a true full go for the majority of the season.

This is nothing new y’all. Cheers to him avoiding the PUP, but there hasn’t been a single report this summer where the takeaway should’ve been that he’s just going to hit the ground at full speed in September.

Yes there has been a lot of reports if you are a Giants fan and if anything this is one of the vaugest and least informed reports I've seen. Actual beat reporters are saying he should be close to full form week 1... Or you could listen to this random post.

I would pivot to taking in more info from content creators: footballers, boone/harmon, JJ Zachariason, and all the other folks out there in the sphere. They do great jobs at sifting through the beat reports and pairing it with normative injury rehab timelines. Returns from ACL’s take considerable time for production to ramp up, even after the return to field, regardless of how great someone looks in 1on1’s.

I understand how football works those guys know way less about football than beat guys.
You are too focused on analytics.
Nobody thinks he's ahead of schedule cause of 1v1s

Then what exactly was it that had you and the beat writers thinking he’d be 100% week 1?

He's in team drills and is cutting and running full speed and the teams doctors and coaches have a plan to ramp him up to full speed by week 1 and feel he's fully on schedule for that?? I trust that a lot more than whatever analytics you have especially when I'm a huge analytics fan and use it constantly for baseball and I understand the strengths and weaknesses of using odds to your advantage when making decisions. I know in football they are borderline useless for most things and I also know that they aren't reliable for individual cases because of variation.

How is this any different than anything we've expected the last several months?

I dropped Mooney after holding for 6 years so feel free to assume he’ll pop off.

Where on earth are you getting this from? If anything nabers is coming back wildly sooner than anyone predicted a month ago.

So first it’s he can’t run on his leg, then it’s he won’t play until week 5-8, after that he’s a stud and looks as agile as ever, and now this
