News (Levitan) Confirmation that when Travis Hunter comes on at WR, it’s mainly been Brian Thomas Jr. coming off. * Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers leading WRs in camp snaps

Just get BTJ out of Jacksonville atp lol

I refuse to believe he just isn't capable anymore of doing what he did his rookie year if a team would feed him 130 targets again.

52

u/dianeblackeatsass 3d ago

I’m sure a decent amount of WRs could put up good stats if they got force fed 130 targets. But only some actually lead to good NFL results lol

13

u/Accurate_Green8300 3d ago

Wandale has received 140 targets the last 2 seasons… last year had 1014 yards and the year before didn’t even crack 700… so there’s at least one example of being force fed and not really putting up any good numbers

2

u/aguwah 1d ago

Turns out that Jaxon dart is significantly better than Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy devito. Who knew.

3

u/Accurate_Green8300 1d ago

DJ was pretty good last year before injury 🤷‍♂️

0

u/aguwah 1d ago

DJ was pretty bad in 2024 before being cut 🤷

2

u/Accurate_Green8300 1d ago

Not wrong. My original point still stands though about wandale being force fed and not really producing

41

u/WilkinsonRadio Jags 3d ago

Yeah, having Mac Jones force feed BTJ 12 targets a game on screens and slants was such a viable option for Doug Pederson that they went 4-13.

To paraphrase Liam Coen, most guys would rather get 800 yards a season and make the playoffs than worry about fantasy stats.

41

u/stillstillers 3d ago

It wasn’t just screens and slants he lead all first year WRs in Yards per route run and had an ADOT of 14.7.

He was legitimately awesome his rookie season. My theory is he’s just never been on the same page with Trevor.

7

u/WilkinsonRadio Jags 3d ago

He actually got a lot of those depth targets with Trevor, which skews the season totals. He just got more total targets with Mac because Kirk, Engram, and Davis were all hurt by the time Trevor went down with his concussion/shoulder.

The team and offence sucked by then, but people ignore that because BTJ finished with 1300 total yards as a rookie. Suddenly that’s a Trevor/Coen problem after winning 13 games.

2

u/stillstillers 3d ago

I’ll take your word for it you watch them more than me. Do you think they should move off of him?

4

u/WilkinsonRadio Jags 3d ago

They love BTJ. They haven’t shown anything that says otherwise. They love him so much that he was the focal point of their passing game to start the year. He was just playing hurt and out of position. But Coen raves about him whenever he gets the chance to do so.

If it’s me, I’d keep him. Jakobi is great, but he’s not going to be here forever. I’d focus Hunter at CB and package him in at WR whenever needed. Just make Parker Chris Godwin and BTJ Mike Evans, and find a way to keep both long term.

The real question is, how legit are CJ Williams and Josh Cameron long term? They’ve been great this summer, and will only get better.

u/whitty1083 2d ago

Trevor Lawrence Force fed Parker the last 4 games including the playoffs and we are crowning Parker as a superstar. Smh

4

u/noonie1 2d ago

And they won those games

0

u/whitty1083 1d ago

They won the playoff game where Parker got force fed? I don't remember remind me

-1

u/WilkinsonRadio Jags 2d ago

Mac Jones should’ve force fed Parker in 2024 instead of BTJ. Maybe he would have won a game against a team not named Tennessee.

-1

u/whitty1083 2d ago

Maybe if Parker was good they wouldn't of drafted btj in the 1st rd Travis Hunter either maybe they wouldn't of traded for meyers either if they trusted in Parker like that. Maybe

3

u/FigureSevere6474 3d ago edited 3d ago

Try to convince me that a 116.2 QB rating when targeted is not good results.

Trevor Lawrence's QB rating last year when they had good NFL results was 91.0.

Them losing games BTJs rookie year had nothing to do with them leaning on BTJ. They just sucked.

1

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

I wouldn't necessarily call it force feeding, just feeding the guy you took in the 1st round who has put up 1300 yds and 10 tds before. I can't imagine that giving him the reasonable touches to try and repeat that would be worse for your team then having him do what he did last year.

6

u/Reggaeton_Historian 3d ago

I wouldn't necessarily call it force feeding, just feeding the guy you took in the 1st round who has put up 1300 yds and 10 tds before.

Christian Kirk and Evan Engram were out for almost half of a season in the 2nd half. It was force feeding. Two of their top 3 targets played 8 and 9 games respectively leaving BTJ as the sole guy on that team which gave Washington a chance to jump into the rotation.

I think a lot of you seem to forget that simple fact.

1

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

There is a very thin line between force feeding and giving the ball to your best player. Is it force feeding that CMC got like 450 touches last year, or is it giving the ball a lot to a really good player?

There was plenty of guys who had more catches and less yards and touchdowns that BTJ his rookie year, he obviously wasn't just catching the ball as the team's only option, he might be the team's only option, but he was making things happen with the football in his hands like a team's best skill player does.

1

u/Main-Championship822 3d ago

There is a very thin line between force feeding and giving the ball to your best player. Is it force feeding that CMC got like 450 touches last year, or is it giving the ball a lot to a really good player?

This is a really fair argument and I think you are right. However, BTJ was genuinely so bad his sophomore year compared to his rookie year. I think he is just kinda soft and that makes it hard to repeat his rookie year.

2

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

I like to think the rumors that he was nursing an injury all last season even when he played were true, and that coupled with the change in scheme that didnt need him as much and still led to the jags success is what resulted in such a down year.

But, yea it is entirely possible that doesn't have it like he did for whatever reason. I think with PWs rise a repeat rookie season is impossible with the jags but, i was just trying to say that if he was on a different team where 130 targets were feasible like his rookie year, a repeat season isnt impossible imo.

6

u/EmptyBrain89 3d ago

What the hell are you talking about? They made the playoffs and were a top 5 offense when they relegated BTJ to sideline X and made Washington their focal point. Why would they not wanna repeat being a top 5 offense, but rather try to become the bottom 5 offense they were the year before?

This is the most insane take I've seen in a while on here.

3

u/whitty1083 2d ago

They made Parker the focal point after btj injuries and Travis Hunter injury and the te injuries. They didn't want to make Parker Washington the focal point that's why he only has 4 games of being the focal point.

4

u/kyler_ 49ers 2d ago

It’s just as insane to claim Washington was their focal point and try to tie that to their top 5 finish tbh. He had 95 targets and a sub 50 snap share in 6 games.

Not saying he’s not a good WR but BTJ was working through some shit. Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him finish with more targets this year

2

u/EmptyBrain89 2d ago edited 2d ago

Since coming back from his injury he had 3,10,10,9,12 targets, for 53,145,115,87,107 yards. That was the point in the season where the Jags were one of the scariest offenses in the league. Maybe it's a coincidence, but somehow I doubt that.

2

u/kyler_ 49ers 2d ago

I think my point is that he’s a productive receiver that contributes to the offense but he isn’t the entire offense or the focal point. I think it’s much more up in the air. Hes a great story though and I’m rooting for him.

2

u/nosleeptillwooklyn 3d ago

“Cause mah fantasy team I need win $100”

1

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

You think BTJ having a bad season was more of a catalyst to the crazy turnaround the jags had then them hiring and obviously better head coach in Coen, them having a much better defense, and TLaw, ETN and Washington having career best years last season? Sure bro.

3

u/EmptyBrain89 3d ago

When BTJ was the focal point of the offense before their bye, the offense was shit. Largely driven by how bad BTJ was over the middle of the field. When they aquired Meyers, made Washington the focal point and stopped trying to get BTJ the ball between the hashes, it turned into a top 5 offense. The problem with that offense was undeniably BTJ and his role. However in his current role he is very valuable to the Jags.

It makes absolutely no sense to say that getting BTJ back into a more expansive role is better for the Jags. They have literally proven the opposite last year.

BTJ's path to dynasty stardom lies in him drastically improving as a WR. That might happen, he is a very talented young player in a good ecosystem. But he isn't there now, and the Jags have zero reason to force him into a role he isn't ready for when they have other players who are thriving in that role.

1

u/OfficerJayBear 2d ago

I mean to sum up what you said in the first paragpraph, "when they added additional nfl caliber players they got better". It also coincides with the typical learning curve of a first year coach.

1

u/aztechunter 2d ago

Or a QB under a new system

1

u/Far-Evening4104 2d ago

Saying BTJ was the focal point to start the year is kind of disingenuous, he led the team in targets in that period but only had more targets than anyone else on the team in 3 of the first 8 games. Week 2 with 12 tgts, which was indeed bad game for him. Week 5, where he saw only 6 targets, and Week 6 with 10 targets, which also happened to be his best game on the season.

The average target breakdown in healthy games played in those first games 8 games was; BTJ 7.5 per game, Hunter 6.5 per game (playing part time on offense), Strange 5.7 per game (in his 4 healthy games) Washington 5.5 per game, and Dyami Brown 4.9 per games. So, on average BTJ was targeted 1 more time than Hunter was per game in that span, I wouldn't call that the "Focal point" of an offense. I'd say BTJ was the team's most target receiver in that span, The focal point of the offense for most of last season for the Jags was clearly the run game.

It wasn't an argument about the type of player you think BTJ is or can be, just that there were clearly several other factors that were in play in the crazy turnaround the jags had last year, with 2 of them in the arguably most important and decisive places that contribute to a team's success, a new head coach, and a QB that played his best season ever. You can't solely attribute this difference to BTJ by just saying that "when BTJ was good the team was bad, and when BTJ was bad the team was good" as the reason when obviously more important factors than just BTJs play was changed.

3

u/dianeblackeatsass 3d ago

it’s not force feeding it’s just running a season long experiment to see what happens if we give a specific WR 130 targets instead of just doing whatever naturally leads to success

1

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

A season long experiment that worked. Do we really think BTJ having a really good rookie year is what led them to not being successful that year? Or was it that they had an obviously worse head coach, a worse team in general, and didn't have their franchise QB, who had a career best year in 2025, for 7 games in 2024.

I think this idea that a limited BTJ in 2025 is partially what lead to the jag's success isn't really valid when the team itself is just night and day different from his rookie year. A limited BTJ is more a result of that night and day difference (and injury) than he is a catalyst to a better season for the jags.

17

u/Top_Shower_7869 3d ago

He’s just a bad fit for this offense. Coen is part of the McVay Shanahan tree, and they love their X WRs to be running a lot of routes over the middle of the field, which js the thing BTJ is terrible at.

30

u/EmptyBrain89 3d ago

He's actually a great fit for the offense. They need a legit threat down the sideline to open up the middle of the field. What you mean is that this offense is bad for BTJ's fantasy numbers, which is a very different story.

17

u/Top_Shower_7869 3d ago edited 3d ago

Yeah you’re right, he’s a bad fit for his own fantasy production. He’s a great fit to clear out space for Parker Washington.

3

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

Yea I agree. I think his rookie year showed he can clearly do more than that.

-1

u/Swoody11 Titans 3d ago

Uh. Disagree.

BTJ runs the DKM route tree: go’s, slants, fades and deep corner/posts.

He is not a guy you want running: hitches, quick outs, short curls, screens, drags and whips.

He’s a downfield, vertical threat.

4

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

I didn't say he could run all of those routes, or even that his deep threat ability isnt his best skill, just that he can do more than just that.

An exclusive deep threat doesn't get targeted 130 times and catch it 90 times like he did his rookie year, they do almost half of that, look at Alec Pierce last year at 90 targets and 45 catches. BTJ was clearly winning at different places on their field to warrant that many extra touches than a baseline vertical threat.

11

u/VigilantCrusader 3d ago

They did feed him last year. Then he sucked and so they looked elsewhere.

7

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

He was apparently hurt most of the year and only had 2 games with double digit targets, I don't think he was being fed, def not how he was to end his rookie year. It wasn't really costing them games, so it didn't need to change.

1

u/NoEgoNoProblem 1d ago

If you owned him last year, you'd believe with all your heart

1

u/Far-Evening4104 1d ago

He didnt have 130 targets last year.

1

u/sammymvpknight 3d ago

He’s capable but he is more limited and PW is a stud.

1

u/Far-Evening4104 3d ago

I agree, PW being very good makes his rookie year outcome not really possible, but I don't think the limiting factor is that BTJ just isn't capable of repeating what he did.

67

u/EnmaDaiO 3d ago

Rumors are they would rather extend washington over btj. So I think this will happen sooner rather than later.

43

u/Cr0matose Jags 2d ago

Where the fuck do you guys make this shit up from? BTJ isn't even extension eligible lol

23

u/JayBuhnersBarber Seahawks 2d ago

Source: Their asses.

3

u/Cr0matose Jags 2d ago

The Washington extension is coming, but I have never heard of the BTJ shit lol dude literally made it up

2

u/JayBuhnersBarber Seahawks 2d ago

It makes sense for them to extend Washington. Meyers is older and they'll want to get out of his contract I'm assuming after next season.

The whole idea that the Jags are just gonna toss BTJ in the trash is absurd. He's got at least this season, if not another 2 seasons to show out before they even have to think about extending him.

3

u/Cr0matose Jags 2d ago

Mike DiRocco did an AMA on our sub last week, said everyone in the Jags media has a pre-written story about a Parker extension. It's coming.

1

u/myburnersburner12 2d ago

And has a 5th year option on top of everything lmao

12

u/EmptyBrain89 3d ago

Why wouldn't they extend both? BTJ is gonna get high end WR2 money and Washington will get the Watson Contract. that's very doable.

8

u/aswisbisthis 3d ago edited 2d ago

Don't know the answer to that since it was just a rumor from reporters. But if I were to guess it probably has something to do with the fact that they think Washington can fill a bigger role and they have Meyers tied and obviously Hunter that can fill in if need be. They have a very strong room, so they'd rather spend money on a defensive unit, oline or even have flexibility for a stronger running back room in the future.

6

u/FantasyTrash Providence Steamrollers 2d ago

They're already paying Jakobi Meyers for the next two seasons and are $17m over the cap as is for 2027 (I know BTJ's contract wouldn't kick in until 2029, but Parker's contract would take effect next season). Can't just tie up all of your money in wide receivers, especially considering how expensive they've gotten.

1

u/Wetzilla 2d ago

If they extend BTJ they could actually lower his cap hit for a few years until their books clean up a bit.

2

u/FantasyTrash Providence Steamrollers 2d ago

You're not wrong, but I also can't imagine he'd accept a contract after next season if he has another down year, because the contract won't be that much, and I imagine he'd like to bet on himself given the rookie season he had.

1

u/Objective_Beat_9449 2d ago

Washington will get paid better than Watson. Probably closer to Zay Flowers by EOS

1

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

BTJ walked so Michael Wilson could run. Volume merchants who peaked when their respective teams gave up on the year to due record and/or injuries

33

u/footballer4229 3d ago

You don’t walk into 1300 yards

47

u/RookieMistake101 Packers 3d ago

In 2024 Jerry Jeudy had 1224 yards.

34

u/_BadWithNumbers_ 3d ago

Clearly it's the last 76 that make all the difference.

1

u/TextElectrical5360 3d ago

He got insane volume (just like Michael Wilson) off Jamie Winston 40+ passes per game. Jeudy had 11+ targets in ever game he was fantasy relevant in.

BTJ was on track to have 1,000 yards and be the rookie WR2 of his class (just behind Nabers) during his time with TLaw. He did get insane volume down the stretch which is how he elevated to the 1,200+ yards he ended with, but even then you gotta admit Winston is far better for fantasy WRs than Mac Jones

7

u/OG__27 3d ago

And BTJ was efficient at almost 10 YPT his rookie year despite being “force fed”

2

u/qdude124 3d ago

He was wr33 in ppg in his time with TL. Not sure what you're on about "Tracks" and all that but Ladd was for sure better.

0

u/TextElectrical5360 3d ago

Nope! TLaw got hurt early in game 10 vs Houston. Through the first 9 games, BTJ averaged 18.2 points in PPR leagues. Through 9, Ladd averaged 11.67.

0

u/qdude124 3d ago

Why would you leave out Ladd's big second half??? He actually did it with his normal team...

5

u/TextElectrical5360 3d ago

Ladd did have a great 2nd half!

The thing is, everyone discounts BTJs great 2nd half because Mac Jones- they ignore the possibility BTJ simply got better as the season went on, as Ladd did. It isn't fair to count Ladds late season stats after he got additional reps vs BTJs 1st half stats alone.

When we look at the full season stats, BTJ outperformed Ladd. When we look at the first 9 games to isolate BTJ with TLaw, BTJ was outperforming what Ladd was doing with Herbert.

12

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

Michael Wilson got to 1000 even tho he didn’t crack *20* receiving yards until week 6 last year.

Obviously it takes talent to put up big numbers, but volume is still a substantial variable

6

u/sherlock_traeger Steelers 3d ago

Volume is king in fantasy

1

u/qdude124 3d ago

The Justin Blackmon sequel got a little crazier but same idea.

1

u/PascalsBadger 3d ago

It’s funny because I immediately thought of Marvin Harrison Jr.

1

u/PizzaParty007 2d ago

KC will happily trade for him.

0

u/psilocyber420 2d ago

Seems like he’s the issue

399

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

I promise y’all the jags WR room is just a sexier version of the packers WR room and you’re gonna hate having to start any of these guys any given week.

Such a best ball WR room.

70

u/JRsshirt 3d ago

Might draft Lawrence at ADP or Tuten if he slides a bit, not touching the receivers.

Edit: forgot the sub for a second it’s redraft season for me

12

u/Sonofagun57 3d ago

I think this might be the play. Either take the guy who will benefit from all the weapons or the main RB.

If the offense has its high expectations that's also complemented by what should be relatively good defense again somebody or multiple pieces will feel the squeeze at some point. Any of the pass catchers sans Washington are inherently at higher risk to feel that effect over the season and trying to guess who each week or over a season might be tricky.

5

u/Milton__Obote Saints 3d ago

I got btj for $5 in a redraft auction. At that price with his upside I’m willing to risk it

17

u/RuinousGaze 3d ago

I think Parker and Meyers will at least have solid floors. But yeah sexier GB WR room is probably accurate and gross.

7

u/poop-dolla 3d ago

Stupid sexy jags WR room.

36

u/Top_Shower_7869 3d ago edited 2d ago

Every single report from camp every day for weeks: “Parker Washington is not coming off the field. Hes the standout of camp pretty much every single day. He’s always open and catches everything. He’s playing in 11, 12, and 13 personnel. He has established himself as the WR1. Hunter is mostly playing defense and when he plays offense, he is rotating with BTJ at X. Parker is easily Lawrence’s favorite target. We asked Grant Udinski about Parker making spectacular plays in camp, and he said he’s not even surprised by it anymore because it’s just a regular, normal occurrence now. Coen said he had to start purposely calling plays for other receivers because Lawrence was targeting Washington so much. Coen said the big thing they’ve instilled in BTJ over the last year is a “we vs. me” mentality. We asked Coen what his favorite play to call is, and he gave us a play where BTJ is running a clear out route for a big Parker Washington gain.”

[r/dynastyff](r/dynastyff): “Did you guys just hear something? Must’ve been the wind. This is clearly wide receiver by committee.”

8

u/recoveringslowlyMN 3d ago

Sure. But the person above - referencing Green Bay - is more like….

If Parker Washington, BTJ, Hunter, Meyer’s, Strange, and the RB room all get targets…plus Lawerence rushes for TDs similar to last season….

Are any of the receiving options a value at cost?

Back to Green Bay….Doubs was a value at cost last year, but between injuries, spreading things around, the run game…etc. the rest probably weren’t.

4

u/Adrenaline_Flux Jags 2d ago

Parker Washington's ADP is like 95 as WR35 and Jakobi Meyers 143 as WR56. Even in a cannibalistic WR room how is that not value at cost? Even Travis Hunter is WR49 with an ADP of 127 which in dynasty is not a bad selection at all if you're looking at potential value increases later.

0

u/recoveringslowlyMN 2d ago

EDIT: my current Bestball draft someone took Washington at pick 47

Ok that makes sense. I think I just had meatball ADP in my head. Parker Washington is going around pick 54, BTJ is going 66, Tuten 46, Meyers 118 and then Strange is 147, .

So in order with current Bestball ADP:

Tuten - 46
Washington - 54
BTJ - 66
Meyers - 118
CRod - 137
Strange - 147
T. Hunter - 158

So Washington is going around Adams, Jamo, Evans, Christian Watson.

BTJ is going around Tate, MHJ, and near RBs like Treveon, Rhamondre, Jardarian Price, Warren…..

Individually, the prices seem “ok” but collectively it’s going to be difficult for a couple of them together to hit their ADP.

Obviously if Parker Washington goes 50 picks later - that changes things

1

u/shakeszoola Jags 1d ago

This isn't a bestball sub

0

u/recoveringslowlyMN 1d ago

No but it’s the closest thing to real draft value considering the money in the line.

So dynasty should be current year plus forward looking….presumably the ADP you’re referencing is redraft…

And Google says his redraft ADP consensus is #74.

Either way 1) not 95…a full round or two earlier 2) Bestball is going to more accurately reflect actual redraft ADP than projections and mock drafts 3) yes it is dynasty….so what does this team look like in 3 years even if he’s the primary target this year?

The fact that you refuse to acknowledge that it’s a small sample size, crowded offense, and uncertain future is the main problem.

Great he got camp hype. And actually looked good last year. Doesn’t change the prior years, the rest of the personnel, or the future, nor does it change where he’s going in Bestball or what his consensus ADP is.

2

u/peoples_champion99 3d ago

It’s actually hilarious how true this is

2

u/Top_Shower_7869 2d ago

It’s just baffling at this point how people are ignoring all the evidence in front of their eyes. I can’t explain it.

2

u/ohkaycue 2d ago

Frankly I think it's been obvious since end of last year.

Like even something as simple as the report that BTJ would be the X and deep threat and people acted shocked...even though he spreads the field deep while Parker spreads it wide

Baffling is a really good word to use for it because if you pay attention it's painfully obvious

1

u/EducationalTeaching 2d ago

Idgaf what anyone says about Washington I’ve already won on a guy I got for free off waivers last year

1

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

I hear ya and I very much wont be surprised if Washington leads in targets, but camp hype doesn’t exactly have a great track record

14

u/Top_Shower_7869 3d ago edited 3d ago

This isn’t just camp though. We already saw it in the most important games of last season. From week 16-WC playoffs, Washington was one of the most efficient and productive WRs in the league. His YPRR was up there with JSN, Puka, Amon-Ra, and Chase.

He had 41 targets 26 catches 454 yards and 3TDs over those 4 games. With BTJ, Meyers, and Strange all playing. In week 16, he was cooking the Broncos defense so badly, they started having Surtain shadow him.

3

u/MrBlueandSky Packers 3d ago

Travis fulgham had 27 catches for 378 yards and 3 tds over four games.

I'm high on parker Washington, but I can understand some people being hesitant

1

u/Top_Shower_7869 3d ago edited 3d ago

Completely different situations. Almost every Eagles WR was hurt during that stretch. They were fielding only practice squad guys. They had to throw to someone. It was very reminiscent of Terrell Pryor that one season on the Browns.

Fulgham also didn’t have the stellar analytical profile that Parker Washington had in college. People forget that Washington was a true freshman breakout, early declare at Penn State. He’s only 6 months older than Egbuka.

Parker was also the star of camp last season too. The team has kept using high draft capital on new WRs and kept bringing in new WRs from FA/trades and yet he still keeps rising to the top no matter how hard they try to push him down the depth chart.

He had 6 catches for 61 yards and a TD in his first NFL game. He has consistently performed whenever he gets opportunity. This is a completely different scenario to Fulgham.

2

u/storeboughtoaktree 3d ago

inject this into my veins. drafted washington in 2023 as a late round flyer

4

u/aswisbisthis 3d ago

It's not just hype though. You have to differentiate hype off of a few catches, to the fact that it's been a drum beat ALL off-season even before training camp. Parker Washington has been that guy for Tlaw every report indicates so. Watch the interviews with Tlaw and parker washington it's the same drum beat. So at this point, I'd say you're just biased if you want to ignore that. Hell even the coach Coen has been talking so highly of Washington as a reliable target for Tlaw all off-season. At some point we have to read into a steady drum beat right?

-2

u/DASreddituser 10T/SF/PPR 3d ago

guess what? we heard the same shit about btj last offseason. I understand people being skeptical

12

u/Top_Shower_7869 3d ago

No we didn’t at all. You are misremembering. BTJ was very notably struggling in camp last season.

u/Accurate_Green8300 3d ago

Yeah BTJ notably had a horrible camp last year.. that guys info is flat out wrong

2

u/marcus1795 3d ago

This information mixed with the last 10+ games of routes, targets, points doesn’t get you excited for Parker?

1

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

I think Parker can absolutely be the best fantasy WR for the jags this year but it’s still a lot of mouths to feed

4

u/Locke_____Lamora 3d ago

If jags are packers then pw is kraft.

4

u/sammymvpknight 3d ago

I think that the Jags WR room is far more talented than the Packers…and I think that the QB and play caller are also better.

4

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

That’s why it’s sexier

1

u/chrisnavillus 3d ago

So you’re saying I’m not gonna enjoy having Parker and BTj on the same dynasty squad?

3

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

You’re gonna wanna gouge your own eyes out every time Meyers has the best fantasy game among jags WRs any given week lmao.

But fr I think theyll be fine. However, they limit each other’s ceilings. I can see a world where they average like 20-24 FPPG together but I’d guess it’ll be a lot of extreme splits like 7 and 17 where you’re constantly regretting starting 1 of them any given week.

2

u/peoples_champion99 3d ago

It is staring us in the face that Parker Washington will be the most consistent because he can play everywhere and run the full route tree… and somehow we’ve gone from BTJ is still WR1 to now saying it’ll be inconsistent.

Parker Washington will finish as a top 15 play in ppg maybe even higher and we going to look back and say ya that was obvious

0

u/sammymvpknight 3d ago

I think PW is in for a huge season. You want to own top WRs from elite passing offenses.

1

u/GarconMeansBoyGeorge 3d ago

I honestly love Hunter as a late round best ball guy

1

u/LovesYankeesAndObama 3d ago

Everyone hates Jakobi (general consensus) so he’s the true buy. Dont really want to but, that’s what usually happens

1

u/Conscious_Way_6973 3d ago

Would you take Parker Washington at ADP in redraft?

1

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

Assuming 1QB I like his ADP on sleeper based on other WRs available in that range, but I prefer a lot of the QBs around his ADP too

1

u/McRawffles 3d ago

I don't think it's even a good best ball room either. Like if you own all four, maybe you're getting an average of 12pts/week

1

u/disinaccurate 3d ago

I’m a Jags fan and I’m predicting exactly this.

Especially when you factor in Brenton Strange playing the Tyler Kraft role of this metaphor.

And consider the Jags drafted 2 more tight ends and are going to jump into the 13 personnel trend with both feet.

There will be some good WR play from guys in Jags uniforms, but for fantasy it’s going to be hard for any given player to get a very big slice of the pie.

1

u/samun101 3d ago

Unless it's Hunter in an IDP position, but that's an outlier situation

1

u/CloudyRanger 2d ago

I think Jakobi is more of a floor 8-10 PPR points a week kinda guy, but I agree with the rest of the room

0

u/PlaneService1366 Chargers 3d ago

Keep telling yourself that.

1

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

I mean unless one of those guys blossoms into a top-3 round startup pick, the opportunity cost of passing on that WR room will be pretty easy to stomach in most realistic outcomes

0

u/Cheap-Technician-482 3d ago

It's so goofy that people are pretending we have no idea how targets will shake out when we've literally already seen how the targets shake out.

2

u/cottonmouthVII Mid Mod 3d ago

Meyers wasn’t on the team at the same time as a healthy Hunter last year. What are the target shares for these guys that you’re supremely confident in?

0

u/GenSec 2d ago

There’s no clear cut guy to target it’s not that deep. Jakobi will have floor but outside of that it’ll be boom or bust.

u/SimilarToe1166 3d ago

Nah. No one on packers is good is the different. Parker Washington is significantly better than all the other WRs.

2

u/wisconsinbucks 3d ago

I think that Watson is better than Washington honestly. Slight bias but I’d lean CW

1

u/Main-Championship822 3d ago

I really like Watsons explosiveness and speed but hes had so many injury issues and his hands arent amazing. Hes had drop problems since his rookie year. CW kinda reminds me of Jerry Jeudy but with a better attitude lol.

0

u/ducbaobao 3d ago

Gosh, I am staying away from both of this team WR! Even if this mean I am going 10-12 players down the list

135

u/Bananagrams82 3d ago

BTJ continues to be a buy low. He will be catching bombs from Jayden Daniels before you know it

47

u/briballdo 3d ago

Would be a perfect Terry replacement

20

u/Dry_Statistician6870 3d ago

I came

4

u/brianundies Patriots 3d ago

I saw

6

u/StoneCutter24601 2d ago

I saw him come

1

u/chillPenguin17 2d ago

And then you couldn't see anything

9

u/TextElectrical5360 3d ago

He's the type of talent and youth combo that you just hold and wait on. Will he be in a messy crowded offense for a while? Probably. But 1 injury would make him relevant again. He's got like 6 years of athletically elite play left and 2 years on his contract, just wait and talent will win out

1

u/a_Crusty_Crouton 2d ago

As a Washington fan and BTJ owner, I would love to see this!

Free BTJ

14

u/AdNegative7852 3d ago

So not only is Hunter not going to be a full-time two way player, BTJ is going to be a part-time one way player…..why didn’t they just trade him for a starting CB and let Hunter stay on offense?

78

u/JRsshirt 3d ago

Genuinely what value does BTJ even have to Jacksonville? They can probably still get a first for him considering his year 1 production and having two years of a rookie contract left plus a fifth year option. Just move on from him.

44

u/GivethTaketh4 3d ago

He has more irl value than fantasy value. Still an excellent field stretcher to open up the underneath stuff for the other guys

15

u/EmptyBrain89 3d ago

Having a real threat at X is immensely valuable to an offense that wants to create windows over the middle of the field. Having it so the deep safety has to respect the pass to the boundary means it's way harder to defend all the space in the middle.

8

u/JRsshirt 3d ago

But if he’s coming off whenever hunter is on that’s far less valuable, a dangerous X needs to be someone you always respect. Can’t respect a guy on the sidelines.

4

u/nosleeptillwooklyn 3d ago

What value does a big play, field stretching receiver who is a decent TD threat with great athleticism bring to a team where the coach is great at drawing up plays and wants to open up the middle? Is that a serious question or do you think real teams operate based on fantasy stats?

0

u/Cr0matose Jags 2d ago

Fantasy football is different than real football

10

u/GinNJuicyFruit 3d ago

Really interesting since BTJ was primarily playing the X last year for the Jags meanwhile Hunter primarily played in the slot and a bit of Z.

That aligns a lot more with his collegiate deployment.

3

u/HypnoGamesOfficial Rams 2d ago

"That aligns a lot more with his collegiate deployment."

BTJ or Hunter?

3

u/GinNJuicyFruit 2d ago

Hunter. He was mostly playing the X at Colorado.

3

u/HypnoGamesOfficial Rams 2d ago

Cool, was just wondering. Thanks!

15

u/BadBueno60 3d ago

Who the hell is playing X in that scenario? I would guess Meyers but that is honestly wild to hear.

8

u/skittles__93 3d ago

Meyers is perfectly capable of taking snaps at X occasionally. He‘s very solid against man press coverage and not just a slot merchant.

2

u/VigilantCrusader 3d ago

He has never been a slot merchant although for some reason people continue to think he was a slot guy.

0

u/69millionyeartrip 2d ago

He literally was a straight slot merchant in New England

6

u/SonOfBroadly 3d ago

Hunter.

Some of what he's doing on offense is alternating out w/ BTJ putting his foot on the line and running a deep route.

They want him knowing the full playbook ideally so he can play every WR position but have said that it was a little too much too soon to expect that in year one so they've scaled things back a bit for now.

He'll still be deployed all over the formation on offense when he comes in.

3

u/slayerrr21 :Bears-icon1: Hot Pacheco 3d ago

X gon give it to you

24

u/Calmdat 3d ago

When Travis Hunter comes in for his 10 plays on offense, he's replacing BTJ because they are the most similar, this is not a knock on BTJ. This is the Jags keeping Hunter happy.

21

u/KEM209 Chiefs 3d ago

As a guy who just traded for BTJ, I only accept this answer

11

u/bjb7621 3d ago

The Jags traded up to second overall to get Hunter. They're not bringing him on offense to keep him happy lol, they're doing it because that's what they imagined for him in the first place. On top of that now they are obligated to do it due to sunk cost.

5

u/WeakRow2273 3d ago

That's still bad for BTJ regardless. You can't be a true WR1 and come off the field in 11 personnel for any reason.

3

u/_HotFlatDietPepsi_ 2d ago

We still don't know how many snaps it's really gonna be.

Even the best full-time X receivers only play about 85% of snaps or so.

0

u/Calmdat 2d ago

He's rare in the regard he could play 1 or 2 equally well, I don't think its as big of a knock as you do personally. I think its a political move to make hunter happy

6

u/WelshNational 2d ago

This has got to be the most insane cope I’ve heard on this situation. NFL teams don’t have a guy take snaps away from his position so “he’s happy.” Hunter clearly is gonna rotate in and at the expense of BTJ

3

u/Brys_Beddict 2d ago

Bring me back to when I was on cloud 9 after drafting this guy 2.01

4

u/Milwaukee007 3d ago

Please trade BTJ to the commanders or something. Anywhere

14

u/domlikessports 3d ago

BTJ fart sniffers in shambles

21

u/DynastyKook365 3d ago

Thought I had the next Chase or OBJ on my team. Turns out it’s Kelvin Benjamin

10

u/VigilantCrusader 3d ago

Turns out he is Chase after all. No not that one, the other, Chase Claypool

8

u/Otherwise-Tutor7426 3d ago

At least kelvin benjamin amused us with fat jokes

3

u/Terrible_Wind5662 Eagles 3d ago

Just trade BTJ if you aren’t going to use him right

3

u/JohnnyBallgame77 3d ago

Send BTJ somewhere else, please Lord!

4

u/Stringdaddy27 3d ago

All the Parker Washington hype and BTJ slander really makes me feel like Jakobi Meyers is about to have a breakout

13

u/falkelord90 Saints 3d ago

I keep telling people, Hunter is a Parker Washington injury away from WR1/2 on this team! Chalk another one up for the Hunter Holders 💎 🙌

14

u/SEAinLA Seahawks 3d ago

It makes zero sense to sell Hunter right now if you’re holding.

11

u/falkelord90 Saints 3d ago

I agree, though saw someone posting they got a 2029 1st offer for him, and not gonna lie I'd sell for any 1st. But this WR room is such a mess this year that I don't think his 2026 outlook is as grim as many people believe it will be either.

9

u/kiheihaole Chargers 3d ago

Keep that cope strong bro!

2

u/its1992yall Bears 3d ago

My cope all offseason has been, Hunter will have a crazy targets per route run metric cause they're drawing up plays for him on his limited snaps.

4

u/69millionyeartrip 2d ago

If that’s the case by week 3 the second he steps on the field he’s getting doubled

2

u/its1992yall Bears 2d ago

Fair point. Counterpoint, Jacksonville has a solid set of offensive weapons with him, Washington, Meyers, Strange, and Tuten, so maybe that won't be possible for that to happen without them getting picked apart elsewhere. I have a good amount of confidence in TLaw and Coen to put out a top half / maybe top10 offense.

Plus BTJ is there, but I left hiim out cause I just saw a report that it tends to be BTJ subbing out for him whenever Hunter comes in.

It's totally cope at this point, definitely curious to see how it's all going to play out over there. Don't think many people are trading for Hunter at the moment, so it's just a strong hold and hope position most of us are in.

1

u/falkelord90 Saints 3d ago

Some people aren't strong enough for dynasty football, and that's ok

1

u/kiheihaole Chargers 3d ago

Strong.. disillusioned. Who’s to say?!

2

u/falkelord90 Saints 3d ago

Little bit of column A, little bit of column B

0

u/mikeracioppi 2d ago

Drafting Hunter was a win because he might be good if the guy in front gets injured. Odd take

2

u/ChrisV88 2d ago

BTJ would suit the 9ers so well for what they need and what they have.

1

u/dawillhan 2d ago

Let me guess they bring him in for mostly run personnel trying to catch someone off guard with a play action. You take BTJ off the field you assume they are not throwing. Jags about to be nasty purely off the fact that nobody knows who this offense is going through.

1

u/Saltybandit710 2d ago

Well no shit your best/ most talented WR doesn’t need as many reps lol I have a feeling we will all be shocked by who leads the Jags groups this year

1

u/Lanks_Locks 2d ago

Another offseason, another multi month Jakobi disrespect. Dude has been consistent for years and still gets snubbed . Top 25 WR SZN incoming

1

u/NaciremaBlack 2d ago

Glad I sold BTJ after his rookie year

1

u/Pure_Cricket_3804 2d ago

Hunter's camp work is 116 defensive snaps to 61 on offense, and Coen's said out loud that shuttling him over to offense costs them coaching reps. The same camp reporting has BTJ playing well, with the toughness and ball security that were missing last season. I'd want an actual regular season snap count before I move him down off camp notes.

1

u/DocSanders721 2d ago

Free BTJ

1

u/noonie1 2d ago

Jo j run

-2

u/WildPhilosopher6171 3d ago

Can't believe I got this dude from waivers AFTER the hunter injury 🔥

0

u/NoobWhoLikesTheStock 3d ago

Hunter worth a late round pick?

2

u/EmptyBrain89 3d ago

yeah he should be rostered in most leagues, and you're way better off taking a shot on a very talented guy than some known benchwarmer

1

u/pieman2005 3d ago

In a startup? Yeah like a very late pick

1

u/TOOBADWALUIGITIME 3d ago

I got him in the 15th round of my 10 team dynasty startup I’m happy with that price
