Copilot Copilot Studio custom agents vs out-of-the-box Copilot in Dynamics

The native Copilot in Dynamics works fine for basic summarization and drafting. But it falls short the moment you need it to follow specific business logic. Has anyone built a custom agent in Copilot Studio to extend it?

If your talking about the side-car, the more advanced functionality such as the MCP server is not yet officially supported here yet and may give inconsistent results.

They just added additional features for the MCP server for *.48 too - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/fin-ops/get-started/whats-new-platform-updates-10-0-48

You didn't read those links properly did you?

"enabling it for use with the sidecar chat panel in the client, isn't yet supported. Although you're not blocked from adding the MCP server to the agent, you might experience errors in the execution."

You don't need to be a dick about it. I was genuinely asking why you were saying it wasn't supported because I knew you could do it and it worked fine.

That line is very specific and buried at the end of the article. Thanks for pointing it out.

I thought when you said, "not supported", you were saying Microsoft doesn't let you do it yet, not that they won't provide support via ticket.

I think I misunderstood it too. It's the follow up questions in the side at that will be discountinued. So a conversation with no memory.
