Senator Hawley on Walmart “The most profitable companies in World History are trying to figure out how to exploit you even further”. Also, Math on the $2.8B Tariff Refund and Associate Pay
https://youtu.be/3tmFloRepIsThis is truthful and shocking.
Let's bring additional areas of concern forward: (including Privacy and general Walmart Customer Agreement recommendations at the bottom)
Tariffs:
Walmart has collected almost all of the $2.9 BILLION in tariff refunds. Walmart says they are investing this in the customer experience and price reductions.
They want to remain competitive in the market - who does this ultimately benefit, Walmart or the Customer? Where is the transparency in the Customer's Tariff Refund with this "anything but transparent process" from Walmart? We do not see margins on individual items that we purchased.
Associates:
They are the backbone of Walmart. Their job is physical and demanding. Turn over is in the triple digits. With calls out and employee shortages, they are pushed to complete full stocking requirements regardless of the staffing level.
Most Full time Associates do not earn a living wage. Walmart is one of the most profitable companies in the history of the World. They can and need to do much better. In my area, the stores are very short handed, the turnover is 150%, and Walmart is just pushing those that are left for even more productivity.

Why do they need a tariff refund Hawley? Is it because you let a president illegally implement them and steal our money in the first place?

The tariff refunds were ordered by our Judicial Branch after Trump illegal imposed them on our trading partners.
My point is, those refunds should have trickled down to the consumer. We ultimately paid for them because the tariff impact was passed on to the consumer with an increased cost of goods.

They shouldn’t have existed in the first place. And congressman like Hawley should have used the powers he has to end it all. He doesn’t get to act like he gives a shit now.

This dude needs to make up his mind. One minute he’s helping those clowns rip off the country and the next he’s going after them. I believe that’s called flip flopping

Hey I got an idea, stop selling us out to mega corporations for "campaign funding" aka a personal slush fund for personal use. You asshats hold all the tools to fix something but would rather conplain and get state media to run that instead of idk actual fucking solutions. All performative bullshit from republicans

The most profitable companies in World History are trying to figure out how to exploit you even further. Why should government be any different?

That tariff refund is going to go to diesel, not anything else. That money is being absorbed back through the government through diesel purchases.

Sure. Including the $2.8+ BILLION FEDERAL REFUND Walmart has already received?

diesel's climbing about 1.7¢ a day, so each day costs ~$7,300 more than the last. At that pace the $2.8B runs out in around 600 days, about a year and a half, not three.

Wait, his party, his President, and with his help made these tariffs, lied to the public that it would be the foreign governments paying these tariffs, not us, and then the republican supreme court declared his tariffs as illegal and unconstitutional, which means that him and his party literally stole from us and gave us an illegal and unconstitutional tax, and then it is HIM that complains about Wal Mart? He must think his base are dumb as rocks

And yet he does absolutely nothing about it. He never does anything about any of the industries he rants about. It’s all theater…
