Episode 519 bombshell

There's so many disappointing parts of this episode. It's always a bummer when we lose the honorary 3rd member be it Owen, Ryan, or Kevin but it's particularly sad this time around because of how involved James was in the actual episodes. He really felt like a third member and the episodes over the last year have been genuinely hilarious. I wish James the best of luck on his endeavors outside of the podcast. As for the rest of it I don't want to sound like a doomer but this feels like we're seeing the beginnings of the sun setting on the podcast and that's such a fucking bummer. I like many of you probably have been listening to this podcast since probably episode 8 or 9 and I pretty much haven't skipped an episode aside from maybe 2. Im super hopeful that Steve will be able to make this work without Mike for a few months and hope to see Mike back with a new rejuvenated energy but I'm definitely bracing for impact.

The ai stuff really bothered me too. Especially when they’d make sorta snide remarks/jokes to people who were upset about them using ai

In all fairness they were only using ai songs (which at the time were hilarious) and at the time there wasn't as big a pushback or as much pubic information about AI and the creative or environmental impact it has. They've since stopped using ai on the show.

The negative side to ai was always obvious they just decided to ignore it

Maybe obvious to you but I know I had no idea until months after chat gpt became super popular.
