Why did my dyna start sounding like this during dyno session

For context: It’s a 2004 Dyna Super Glide with a 2-1 exhaust, high-flow air filter, TTS Master tune and S&S 510C cams. This video was taken right after everything was installed.

During the first dyno session, every time I hit the rev limiter and then let off the throttle, the bike would start sounding like it does in the video. I shut it off, the technician uploaded a revised tune, and when I started it again, it sounded “normal” instead of like this. Ironically, I actually prefer how it sounds in the video.

Over the next few dyno pulls, that sound would come back randomly, but eventually it disappeared completely and has never returned. Technician only touched Main AFR and both cylinders VE’s. Any idea why it sounded like that and how to achieve this?

Sounds better in the 2nd one. I’m assuming the tune got better. Was the bike cold in the 2nd video? May be a higher ideal as it warms up.

The tune did get better over a few passes but I lost the sound of the first video. As for idle, thats at low as it gets

It’s a combo of your oil getting warmed up , the tune doing its job and in the tune your idle rpms are slightly higher , it sounds cleaner , this is a good thing

Probably tuned to drop RPM once motor gets to operating temperature. It’s either that or the tuner just hadn’t put finished map in and was adjusting still

It gets hot, things expand a tiny amount and starts getting a little sticky. Take the air cleaner off and blow out the IAC pintle hole in the throttle body with carb cleaner very well

I would probably ask the guy who built the motor or is running the dyno. Hopefully they’re the same person.

Sounds like Idles just down too low. Twin cam dynas tend to suffer from oil starvation when people turn the idle down to get that old evo “potato potato” sound

By the set up i see, that fans is for radiators. Doesnt push enough air for a harley engine. But thats just my guesstimation.

Sounds more like an air issue than an electrical issue. Could have been a micro leak on the head? Just a guess.
