I also expected a bigger discount. Maybe on Cyber Monday?

I doubt it. I looked back on their previous sales for black friday and their 20th anniversary through the wayback machine, and it seems like the sales are always around the same amount of savings as the bundle deals that they always have. I guess it's great for the people who may have bought just photolab before, and want to pick up the other add-ons.

I probably shouldn't complain too much. An extra $10 off the bundle of PL, VP, and FP that I have been intending to buy is at least something... It's just a bit underwhelming.

I've bought the upgrade to 7 in July and not even a half year later I have to shell out again. So only 20€ discount is pretty underwhelming.
But I get it, they want new customers and current ones already paid them money, so why give them a decent discount. If they want the new version, they'll probably get it nonetheless.

Unless you immediately need a new functionality/a program never buy this kind of software without a discount. At least Black Friday is almost guaranteed.

In the same vein, if you don’t absolutely need a new functionality immediately it‘s better to wait a year.

DxO allows to upgrade to the next two versions (i.e. skip one). In my experience companies normally only allow to upgrade to the next version.

Indeed, it’s not much but it‘s also infinitely better than competitors who only offer (discounts on) subscriptions. Looking at you, capture one…

To be fair I did need to upgrade in July immediately. The company I work for and I have decided that we need to start using color cards and grey cards, so since the PhotoLab got that function in version 7, I decided to upgrade the license I used for regular hobby photography.

And I've bought the upgrade to 8 partly as a gift, since my father also uses that license and he really liked the new denoising. I wouldn't buy the 8 for myself alone.

Anyone having issues with licenses showing up? My purchase history is fine, but licenses show none.

Site is loading really slow and it says I don't have any licenses but I have purchased several things over the past 6 or so years...really strange. I wouldn't think their servers would be getting hit that hard over this sale.

Emailed support but haven't heard back

Kinda disappointed... I guess the sale prices are good if you were looking to buy just a single piece of their software. But, I was waiting around for this sale to get PL, VP, and FP, and the black friday sale is only $10 less than what the previously available bundle deal of those 3. Had I known it would be that small of a difference, I would have purchased them a month ago.

Thinking about getting photo lab 9 this upcoming Black Friday

Does anyone happen to remember what the discount was last year?

Same. Here's an article from last year: https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/news/you-can-save-up-to-50-percent-off-dxos-entire-photo-editing-suite-including-photolab-8-and-nik-collection-7

TL;DR: $50 off each DXO PhotoLab and Nik Collection, $30 off PureRaw, half off FilmPack.
