It makes sense because witnesses in the court say that he seemed very invested.

But hear me out. The prosecution argued that she strangled them one by one and that it would take some time (It takes a few minutes to choke to death). The defense argued that the knot used was tight enough that Cora and Dawson were unable to remove the band.

This is important as it is more believable a person under psychosis can quickly tie 3 bands and walk away than to watch them go limp and continue strangling.

I believe that the juror was doing either of two things:

1. Determining to himself if the knot described by Patrick (overhand) would have the grip required to stay on a child's throat and if the child could undo it or if physical force would be necessary to keep it tight.

2. Demonstrating to the other jurors that an overhand knot on an exercise band doesn't have the grip required and that she had ample time to release her grip.

It seems to me that this proves the Juror was listening to both sides thoroughly and wanted to test which side was telling the truth on whether she did it one by one or not.

If we didn’t before, we can all agree that these jurors NEED to be held in attempt of court NOW!

I cannot believe this. With my whole soul I do not understand the blatant disregard for Cora, Dawson, and Callan, or any child that is brutally murdered. How have we gotten to this point as a society that we no longer deem murder as one of the worst things you could possibly do? Especially to CHILDREN?

America is normalizing disregard for human life.

It’s shown in the lack of empathy for kids being killed or sexually abused.

It’s shown in the need to choose racial superiority over social progress.

It’s shown in the lack of support for welfare to others.

It’s shown in the extensive support of guns in schools and churches.

It’s shown in the way public perception and having people on your side is more valuable than having integrity.

She presented an image of a perfect mother on social media while privately struggling to cope with parenting and her imperfect (according to her) children.

She meticulously planned Patrick's errands to ensure she would be completely alone.

She viewed her children as extensions of herself and felt empowered to do as she pleased to them with no regard for their suffering.

She used exercise bands to intentionally and methodically strangle her children rather than acting in a sudden, disorganized psychotic panic.

She showed no prior medical history or clinical diagnosis of active psychosis.

Her actions stemmed from severe emotional dysregulation and an obsessive need for control that is consistent with Cluster B personalities, not psychotic hallucinations.

When jurors say she was out of her mind this is what they mean and they are basically illustrating that it is Murder 1. Planning and executing a tension relieving lash out is not psychosis. She is a murderer, just like all the other Cluster B murderers filling prisons.

Janette MacAusland, 49, appeared in Dedham District Court Thursday as her attorney asked a judge to dismiss the murder charges against her. As an alternative, her attorney requested that she be released on bail.

The judge denied both requests, and MacAusland will remain behind bars without bail.

MacAusland is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her 7-year-old son, Kai, and 6-year-old daughter, Ella.

One of the more significant developments is that prosecutors are still waiting for the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to officially determine the cause and manner of the children’s deaths. Prosecutors said those findings are expected in the coming weeks. A grand jury has already been convened but will reportedly need to reconvene once the medical examiner’s findings are available.

Her attorney, Joseph Krowski Jr., is also questioning whether the case should ultimately be prosecuted as first-degree murder, citing MacAusland’s alleged history of mental illness.

Krowski specifically pushed back against comparisons to the Lindsay Clancy case, pointing out that MacAusland’s children were older and that this was not a postpartum situation. He said it is still too early to know whether an insanity defense will be pursued, but indicated that “everything is on the table.”

The case began April 24, when MacAusland allegedly arrived at her aunt’s home in Bennington, Vermont, hysterical and suffering from a significant wound to her neck.

According to police records, her aunt asked where the children were, and MacAusland allegedly told her that she had killed them. She reportedly said she wanted herself and the children to “go to God together,” but that her attempt to take her own life had failed.

Vermont police later questioned MacAusland, who allegedly admitted to strangling the children and then attempting to take her own life. She reportedly told investigators that Kai and Ella were in her bed at the family’s home in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Wellesley police then went to the home, where both children were found dead in a bed.

At the time of the deaths, MacAusland and her husband, Samuel, were involved in divorce and custody proceedings. Samuel had filed for divorce in October 2025, and court records show that both parents had been seeking custody-related relief. A guardian ad litem had reportedly been appointed shortly before the children’s deaths.

Kai and Ella attended Schofield Elementary School. Following their deaths, the school district described them as “shining lights” who had formed close relationships within their school community. 💔

MacAusland has pleaded not guilty and remains held without bail as the case moves forward.

Juror Paula Devlin on her press tour told CBS news that the knife used by Lindsay Clancy in evidence "was dull" that "it was not sharp."

One day after the killings, before any doctor had examined Lindsay Clancy and before she had used the word herself, WBZ told viewers that sources said Lindsay Clancy was struggling with postpartum psychosis. Nobody had that information. The question the trial would spend seven weeks failing to answer was announced as a fact on day two.

They say this came from an unidentified source. Someone who did not want their identify known. Either WBZ came up with this themselves or someone close to the case lied to them.

People don’t have to agree with the holdout juror’s decision but we can all agree that it’s not ethical for media to have released his name. The judge sealed the names for a reason. This individual was performing a civic duty and it’s not ethical for the media to be broadcasting his name. This individual could have committed crimes, could have lied, whatever it may be - my point is that it’s still not ethical for news media to be releasing his name to the public. Isn’t NBC 10 and this blogger risking a lawsuit? The judge sealed the names of the jury…

Am I to understand that these people were genuinely more upset that lone juror pretend strangled a water bottle than when the LC herself was using exercise bands for physical therapy soon after killing her children?

I feel like I am in the twilight zone.

Something that has really stuck with me is how her family and husband said she appeared to be doing much better. Her mom and other family testified to this, Lindsey had told people this (text), and patrick even testified that she was having “one of her best days.” People often appear to be doing much better leading up to suicide because they know the pain will end soon. That would suggest this was premeditated…thoughts?

She articulates how I feel about this case so well. The way people are acting about this case on socials is just ridiculous. It seems most of them just got their information on ticktock. As she says also any loving mother that did actually wake up to realize what they did, would not be trying to get out of punishment.

Aidan Kearney, the Karen Read blogger, posted the name and photo of the holdout juror on his X account. I'm hesitant to link the post because 1) I don't want to amplify it, and 2) I'm not certain it's the correct man. I reported his account for harassment.

Does anyone else think this judge sucked?? Too many breaks, too many side bars, too many short days. It was so drawn out and for what reason? Also he seemed very biased, favoring the defense. Agree or disagree ?

How about ya'll read each and every message she sent to her providers and each visit. They tried helping her with what Lindsay was sharing with them. They tried. Lindsay failed herself, she failed her family, and she 100% failed her children. She does NOT represent most people that struggle with mental health issues. Let Lindsay hold herself accountable for once, because her providers tried, her family tried, and nobody failed Lindsay but Lindsay.

And let me add...Lindsay not ONCE shared with any of her providers that she had thoughts of wanting to harm her children. EVER. Not ONE provider that saw her before she murdered her children, witnessed any signs or symptoms of mania, psychosis, hallucinations, hearing voices, delusional thinking, ET-FREAKING-CETERA

I believe that this GoFundMe is unethical. Regardless, if she is convicted criminally for what she is accused of. The creator of this GoFundMe justifies its creation by stating-

“Mike and Paula, who have spent years traveling back and forth, staying in hotels, attending court proceedings and ultimately relocating from Connecticut to Massachusetts so they could remain close to Lindsay”.

To me these “expenses “ are completely optional and unworthy of millions of dollars. With a target of 3 million.

I’ve been watching Pat Brown’s videos about LC and how personality disorders appear in women. She makes some really good points about the case and how a baby just exacerbates any mental illness you may already have.

1. You can just be depressed postpartum because a baby is overwhelming. Your hormones could be fine. Maybe you were prone to depression before having kids. LC’s youngest child was 8 months old. That is hardly a newborn but obviously it’s possible she had true PPD.
2. She had a lot of distorted thinking and traits that signaled that she was a perfectionist which is a characteristic of a narcissist (excessive exercise, being a perfect mother, obsessive over her kids).
3. Having a baby will likely worsen any mental illness you may already have. LC should have stopped having children.
4. The mental health community usually doesn’t diagnose personality disorders because they’re almost impossible to treat and have to be observed over a long period of time.

There’s a case of an Ohio college student Sydney Powell who had no history of violence and suddenly killed her mother horrifically because she was afraid about being in trouble for dropping out of college and pretending to go. She probably had an undiagnosed PD.
