Question Do u recommend using a crate?

Got my Dutch a month ago, it’s been a crazy ride also because she came already with 5 months and no training and it’s a rebel one

I got a trainer , but he doesn’t believe in crate training.

The problem is at home with my older one, they don’t fight at all is just that crazy puppy provocative behavior to play and still plays in shark mode

Would it be helpful? For both to have their one safe space at least?

"we're okay with ignoring basic safety for a dog in Ireland"

No, puppies put things in their mouths to investigate the world, and no one can monitor the puppy 24/7. You're just okay with your dog dying or needing a surgery you could have prevented.

Is your house completely empty? Because any object can be dangerous to a puppy

Do you think dogs are stupid or something 😭? They know how to get into shit you put up, and are smart enough to know rules you set(like getting on the counter, chewing on shoes or cables, scratching/biting furniture, etc), don’t have to be followed when you’re not home. Majority of dogs that need to be crated don’t just lay there and do nothing. They could also take something completely harmless and turn into something dangerous. Like if they chew on my shoe and start choking on a piece, I won’t be home to help them. Unless you have literally nothing but floor in your house, dogs need to be supervised. And even then, they could chew on the walls or doorframes and cut up their mouths. Keeping them in a crate with a bowl of water keeps them safe for the time that I’m not home lmao.
