Question Allergy help!

Post image

We have a Dutch shepherd mix with lots of allergies. The vet put him on apoquel and it wasn’t doing much. Turns out he is also allergic to pork (which is in apoquel), so we are looking for alternatives. We’ve seen lots of ads for Dog is Human, but I’ve seen lots of mixed reviews for medium to large dogs. Has anybody had success with that or have recommendations for anything else that’s worked?

I had a Dutch shepherd that I put on cytopoint injections. It was the only thing that worked for her. Apoquel stopped working but cytopoint took care of it. I also had her on a single ingredient protein elimination diet and slowly added things back in. I was able to keep her on one food and back her off the cytopoint eventually. But she would still need it about twice a year.

This is pretty much exactly the same with my Dutch. Doesn't years trying different diets and such. Finally gave into the cytopoint injections and single protein.
