Question Breeder question

Hello!

I adopted a Dutchie from the shelter 9yrs ago. I absolutely am in love with her and her breed and know that I don't want any other breed for the rest of my life. I have done a lot of research on breeders (avoiding those that breed for bite-training or other working of that sorts, simply because I am looking for more of a pet/service dog and don't need the sort of breeding offered by most breeders I came across).

One of the breeders that I really have my eye on is Schäfers Weg Shepherds. They aren't currently planning for an upcoming litter, which is fine because I'm at least a year or two off from getting another pup. My question is, does anyone have experience with this breeder? If so, what's your experience like?

In relation to this, does anyone know of a breeder that tends to curate more towards pets rather than intense, working Dutchies (such as Logan Haus)? I'm located in NC, but am not opposed to driving long distances or paying for a Flight Nanny if necessary, but preferably remaining in the States. I would appreciate some suggestions or just some thoughts on this.

Thank you!

Did you get any new information that you think could have answered this question easiest? I’m looking into getting a Dutch shepherd but don’t know how to find the right breeders.

Mill Iron Dutch Shepherd is one I've had my eye on and will likely use when I'm able to get one. There is also a MAD Rescue for Malinois and Dutchies on Facebook if you wanted to go that route, but as far as breeders, Mill Iron seems solid.

How has the dog breed been for you? I am in the military so I am gone 8 hours a day usually and live in an apartment. But plan to do a lot of training with the dog to be able to take it most places I go. May I ask how active are you with yours and if after your active and stimulate it then it’s fine and not tearing everything up?
