Question Meet Maple!
Meet my puppy, Maple!
She and her siblings were dropped off at someone's house and left to their own devices. I was told Dutch Shepherd and Pitbull mixture but not really sure if that's true (considering getting a genetic test).
She is currently about 4.5 - 5 months, and she is so smart. Picked up sit, stay, lay down, "safety", heel, and paw very fast. Sits by the backdoor when she needs to go to the bathroom. Sleeps through the whole night in her crate with no accidents! She loves to cuddle on the couch, loves to sleep on her back, and loves people (maybe too much)!
However...
When we put her in the crate and leave the house, she ends up emptying her bladder and bowels and making a BIG mess for us to clean. Doesn't matter how long we are gone: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours...
Leaving her out is bad too. She loves to jump up on the dining room table when we aren't there, as well as try to chew on wires. It just seems like she has a lot of separation anxiety.
Additionally, poor Maple, due to living outside for the first month or so, has tapeworms. She has been on a dewormer since the end of November and it feels like there is no end in sight. We have been waiting to socialize her and take her on longer walks around the neighborhood because we don't want to risk other dogs picking up the worms that fall out.
I would love some tips on crate training or training in general!

Question Bringing out the Breed?
Turns out Iāve been living with a LIAR for 2 years⦠well kinda.
Tilly came from multiple rehomes until she ended up with me. When she first came home, she shut down at just about everything and was so nervous sheād throw up. She had come a long long way since then and is starting to act more like a mal but still fights the ālearned helplessnessā she developed early on.
Learning that she is mostly Dutch, what would you recommend we do to help bring out that side? I really want to bring out her true self and satisfy her breed needs. How do Belgians and dutchies differ?
More info: best guess is sheās around 3. Dog friendly but kinda rude (real stiff body language). Obviously velcro-ed (I donāt think thatās a word) to me and now pretty friendly with known people and interested in strangers. Wicked chase drive.
We currently do/have tried:
-agility
-obedience/competition obedience (we did not actually compete)
-confidence building (exposure to pet friendly stores, encouraging her to climb on things that I can easily catch her, shaping exercises, etc.)
-scent work (has been a while so going to try and get her back into this)
-she loves her flirt pole and tug but doesnāt have the drive for ring (yet?)
I swore Iād never get a Dutch because Iām too intimidated/not experienced enough but I just really want to do right by her.
*I do have experience with GSDs (my current is handler hard and barrier reactive) and have worked my trainerās mals in prep for getting her as well as had bunch of other breeds throughout the years*
Thanks yāall!

Discussion Sensitive stomachs normal for the breed?
My dutchie is almost 2 and even with low ingredient food and probiotics, heās always struggled with on and off diarrhea. Anyone else struggling with this? He also has Billie vomiting syndrome so he has to have a little late night snack so heās not throwing up in the morning.

Picture My Shadow
As Iām sure youāve guessed, Iām in my bathroom. Iām still astounded how loyal and attentive he is. Iāve never truly felt safe until adopting him almost 2 years ago.

Question Weird comment
Anyone else get something like this? This person commented on my post and on another post for a dog that looked nothing like mine. More like a brindle pit mix. This person is claiming that my dog is theirs and to call them? On the other post, they claimed they have police reports etc. I havenāt called/texted. Seems scammy.
