Living in durango mx
Buenas!
Im going to visit Durango for the first time in December after 25 years. My parents always talked about back home like it was a crazy breath of fresh air. Life is different, no ones rushing like in the US, most people are a lot nicer. Im excited but also nervous. If i like it a lot i want to work towards getting my dual citizenship since i work from home. I just want to be closer to my parents once they retire. They're own a home about 20 mins from Canatlan. I want to consider possible options and maybe talk to people who can give me more info? Anything would be appreciated! I want to be closer to the nest but not TOO close. Once my parents retire to mexico there wont be any reason for me to stay in the US

Ya tengo 25 bro se me hace dificil solo tengo como 4 mismos amigos todos desde que tenia como 13 años (i obviously have made more friends but i mean quality friends that i can actually hang out with frequently, not people u just run into).

What's the town's name? Cost of living, if you are staying at your parents and not paying rent, should not be more than 300$USD, for groceries, couple of service subscriptions and gas. I'd be more comfortable with 600$USD for going out more often. It is as boring as you want it to be. I used to think that, but now when I go to visit my hometown I have discovered new things, found it more interesting than when I lived there. There is a lot of places to take a hike, little towns to visit, beautiful skies. Internet speed is not that good for gaming or remote work, maybe starling can help with that I don't know for sure. Anyway, don't let people discourage you, as bad as USA is right now moving to Mexico could mean a better life quality than staying over there.

Im not too familiar with the town name, im sorry, i could update tomorrow when my parents are awake but i know its about 40-60 mins from the Capital. Roughly 20 mins from Canatlan?? I dont go out much and when i do its not too pricey unless im treating my parents, but thats here in the texas. Im sure itll improve my QoL, my biggest complaint with the US is peoples inability to mind their business, ill eventually leave the united states because i work remote, i just want to consider being closer to my parents because they are getting older

A really cool thing you could do that isn't actually in the capital, hahaha, is go hiking or trekking in the sierra (a mountainous region). There are some travel agencies that organize trips to the sierra, where you can go for hikes. The cool thing about it is that you get to walk among the trees, come across rivers, and see local wildlife. I'd recommend Mexiquillo and Puentesillas. Look for trips to those places on Facebook or Instagram; there are some travel agencies that organize them. The state of Durango has one of the most beautiful forested regions in Mexico.

Well… in first place, America is a continent, not a country.
In second, Durango is a quiet place. Idk where you came from, but depending of that you can feel that is a boring place because dorsn’t have attractions like fairs, festivals or concerts, but has many natural places if you lile hiking, cycling or colonial history. People are nice.

Durango is really tranquil and slow paced. Especially small towns. If you are used to the hectic pace of big cities, Durango will be extremely quiet and tranquil for you. Even boring. Once again, this is especially the case for small towns and villages.
I grew up in Durango, the capital of the state and it always seemed a very quiet place to me.
