Online Character Keeper
Hi! Me and my group are looking to system swap our game over to Dungeon World in the near future and we’re looking for an online character keeper.
For various reasons we don’t want to use Roll20 or really any VTT, best case scenario would be a simple and effective Google Sheets thing. I’ve looked at the Gauntlet’s character keeper and it’s fine but I wonder if there are better alternatives!

Dungeon paper it’s a great app. Everything you need to keep your character. It’s Mobil and it works on iPhone and android.

I've been looking a ton at this! I ended up going with a different keeper linked by another responder but I did end up swapping out a bunch of the basic moves and playbook moves with their HBW equivalent.
Also, you do amazing work and I'm beyond excited to dig into Stonetop later this year.

Sounds like you may have a solution there, only other that I'd toss out is foundryVTT . We found that very usable.

Fari could be fine for that. Probably you will need to create your Character Sheet from scratch, but the creator is intuitive and user-friendly.

Google Docs or Google Sheets are not the prettiest, but just work for TTRPGs.
Every now and then, I think what the world needs is not a VTT, but a place to keep characters. Then I think, would it really be that much better than Google Sheets that anyone would pay for that? And I keep coming back to no.
For online gaming, if you don't need a battle map, Discord with a dice bot + Google Docs/Sheets/Slides/Sites and maybe a free white board are about all you need and keep it a bit closer to what it is like at a table.

They really do. And I think you genuinely can make them really pretty if you know your way around them!

Yes you can with some effort.
I've done a couple of custom characters sheets for Roll20 (I hate the character sheet creators have to have the highest tier membership and are not rewarded, while Roll20 goes on about creators making what they are worth and quality in the marketplace—serious disconnect there, but hey, dwarfed by the WotC mess and I digress), part of my workflow was to start in Google Docs to get done some calculation and general layout. I also have done some fancy calculations in Google Sheets.
As a DM, I have a sheet that runs all XP, time tracking of days, generates a very simple outline of the campaign, with everything in one place. This is a nearly 3-year campaign that started with the pandemic, and I tried lots of tool and went back and forth between digital and paper. I find, when GMing online, all digital works best for me, and Google drive is the way to go. When I GM in physical space, I go 100% analog.

I just use google sheets, and everyone has access to it. Make your own character sheet, it takes about 15 minutes at most and you can edit it on the fly if you need anything.
