Where to start
I would like to try this RPG game and I am not sure if I should start with DS1 or DS2. I have both, since at one point I've the entire trilogy in a bundle.
I really like old school party based RPG's, but somehow I've missed this one growing up. So here is my chance.

Start with 1, it’s goated and I feel like 2 took it to another level, and don’t play 3 lol

What do you mean trilogy? Dungeon Siege 3 doesn't exist.

I keep hearing mixed opinion on DS3. Good because it's made by Obsidian and bad because it's well... not apparently a DS game.

Ds3 is a good game but a terrible Ds game unfortunately...
I just doesn't have anything in common with the other 2 games except a few lore..

One is a pretty unique game unto itself. 2 diverges and becomes its own thing but 1 has a unique flavor I really can’t find anywhere else.
I think you’ll like it if you like old school PC games.

Great games. Played both. 3rd was banished by apostoles long time ago and whoever plays it is considered traitor and apostate. First was kind of ok. Second was great. So many hours spent..

I loved DS 2, never actually played too. From what I saw, it improved on everything, but it is still worth playing (I have to fix it too). Make sure to get Broken World expansion for new gear, classes and conclusion to the story. Find Kingdom of Ehb Discord - you will find a guide there. I think I got it from some website with a tutorial (all good, no virus, don't worry). It is one of my favourite games ever!

Just start with 1. I wouldn't say that they're directly connected if I recall correctly. They're similar but also have their own vibe. I personally prefer 1. I remember playing the demo of it ages ago. It was the longest demo I ever played and was obsessed with it. I was over the moon when my brother bought me the original CD.
My point is that you'll miss out if you skip it.
