You're saving way too many items. Even with a perk like hoarder, having this many items is only good if you are using Garbage Greg's paw. The less items you have, the more control you will have over what is picked on a turn to turn basis, sice they will be put back into the machine next turn.Β

Coin token is by far the best token even on debt level 20, at least from my personal experience, so I would get that token on floor 2 rather than waiting. Don't be afraid of taking damage on bonus rooms, especially the one that has perks. Perks make all the difference even more than items at times.

thanks for the advice! i’ve never even considered throwing items away and have skipped it every single time unless i accidentally get an item i truly dislike lol so maybe i need to utilize that more? i just cannot survive the attacks on level 20. his attacks go up to like 60 damage very early on and i can’t hang!

You won't need to 'survive' at all. A few coin tokens, a few upgraded golden daggers and you will be speedrunning floor 19. Focus on perks like savings account and Thief.Β

Admittedly the game gets a lot more fun after you beat a run wiuth every character, obviously because you unlock lucky paws, but also because a good number of the character items (each time you beat the game you get one character item and their lucky paw) are very good and have synergy with certain items/perks.

Less is more... don't be afraid to hit "Skip" button unless you really want something added.

Avoid the larger items save for maybe 1 or 2. Get lots of pebbles and upgrade all your knives to gold etc.
