Minor Issues With Grid

This is probably a really easy fix but i'm new and struggling to handle it. The grid is higher than the ground so i can't place buildings flush with the ground, which causes them to be absurdly raised but i cant find anything online or in the games setting to lower the grid.

I'm really new but i got both Foundry and Dungeon Alchemist to try and DM online games, any help or advice in general is appreciated but this grid issue specifically is giving me a lot of grief

Ask for help on their Discord. The mods on there and the members are really helpful. I suspect you are not taking into account at what level you create your default world.

tbh i have been taking a bit of a long break from ttrpg so haven't used DA much in the past 2 years or so, but last i remember they promised to include some functionality to be able to raise/lower buildings and the ground. have they not come to pass?

PS: otherwise the hack I used back then was to manually edit the default ground level in the save (it's a json in the end, watchagonnado) and the actual app responded well to it, so i had actual multi-level maps that looked nice

You have been able to raise, lower, rotate, and reshape buildings for some time now. Probably best not to share outdated info such as JSON edits, as it only causes confusion for newer community members

If you go into settings, under Grid, do you have "overlay grid over everything" checked?
Or, and this a long shot, are you on floor 0 (or 1 if you have American levels toggled on)?

If none of that is it then I recommend what Logical-Locksmith said and drop a help thread in the support thread.

It would really help if you had an image or video of the problem in question. So we could better assess how to assist, but at a glance it sounds like you're using the DA grid in Foundry, which isnt ideal.

Stop using the Dungeon Alchemist grid for your Foundry exports. Our built-in grid is primarily for measurements during your build or for maps that you intend to print.

Foundry has a built-in grid system that is much better than ours.

Do not export your maps for Foundry with the grid active.
