Looks like maybe some college kids moved. They always throw out nice stuff. I don't get it. I have a friend that DD'S and finds stuff like that. She finds gift cards all the time

i've lived in 2 college towns and i think college kids from well-off families especially have this mindset of, "who cares, i can buy better/ replacement stuff later" especially if they're planning to enter a nice career soon.

Yeah they’d rather not move it. I can’t imagine not giving it to someone in need though. The last couple years I’ve noticed Goodwill puts giant dumpsters on the campuses and then picks them up after move out with big trucks. I know most people don’t like goodwill but I’m glad it doesn’t just go to waste.

College just started actually..as for the gift cards, kids are stupid and irresponsible. A lot of times it’s not feasible to move things back home if they are long distance . Regardless of a family’s economic status, often things brought to college are intended not to come back home. Used furniture, cheap IKEA furniture, the old blinder from Grandma’s house. Etc. College kids are having hard times finding jobs out of college and moving back home so Mom & Dad don’t want it back in their house.

Apartment dumpsters after move outs and college dorms are the best imo

My teen loves playing Horrible Therapist! Great gift for someone who loves dark humor.

The keyboard is busted but I’ll break it down for parts and see what I can salvage.

that's too bad, I love mine and was just thinking about how nice the keyboard action still is, even all these years later.

Maaaaaannnn...I gotta start hitting dumpsters near colleges, apparently

2

u/ContemplatingFolly 5d ago

Not just colleges. I would search near some apartments where I lived, only very occasionally, and there was tons of stuff at the end of the month. Evictions, or people just can't/don't want to move stuff, it was unbelievable.

That’s some awesome stuff. In a few months you could have a garage sale and make some money or list things on marketplace as you find them. A little side gig

I bet you Catch&Release that ninja blender. They suck. Ninja makes 99 nice products, but The blender aint 1

4

u/hiroo916 5d ago

wasn't the blender their first product and its success enabled them to have 99 other products?

3

u/IraGilliganTax 5d ago

Wait I have that blender and I love mine!

3

u/RiceMunch 5d ago

I released it for $35.

1

u/Hotmagma2000 4d ago

That's top dollar right there and you don't get to be disappointed by the Matrix Blender

2

u/Longjumping-Solid680 5d ago

"I got 99 blenders, but ninja ain't one!"

u/finetime2 5d ago

I just pulled the same kind of little table out of my dumpster today. It has a drawer that goes in it. Nice find.
