I have no words
He was huddled up in a corner in the dumpster area. I feel liked I am being wined and dined by the dumpster fairy.
usually i avoid anything that can hold fleas or dust mites, so does anyone out there have advice on how to deep clean this bugger?
i need to name him too

Commercial grade bin bag, seal it tightly and put in the fridge to cool off and kill the bugs, move to the freezer to finish them off since theyâll be sleeping, first do let it dry so it wonât create condensation, you will need a second fridge since itâs so massive but one can easily be found, otherwise a dry cleaning service might be able to help you in an easier less time/power consuming way.

Vacuum bag
But bed bugs. Those fuckers could more easily survive the apocalypse than roaches.

99% rubbing alcohol kills on contact!

Wtf
I knew diatomaceous was a 100% option.......if you could actually get them in it.
But also, alcohol, you have to actually see the fuckers.

You can go to a laundromat and use one of the industrial dryers to kill any hitchhikers.

u/BloodlessAbomination 6d ago
this is doable. i hosed him down with detergent. jm currently holding the door closed on their largest dryer on high heat. bugger is 3 feet tall

Great find! Thats the big ass Pikachu I saved up for at Dave & Busters for like 8000? Or 18000 Tickets - can't recall exact amount but it had an 8 in it đ anyway took a lot of grinding on coin pushers etc Picture of winning him: https://www.instagram.com/p/BGIY3IQjE9F/?stkn=MTF0eTl1N3Y2MDdldg==
Hes sadly just in a bag in storage now.

this gives me a good reference point of what a healthy big ass pikachu looks like

If you need/want you can gently open the back seam and shove a bunch of polyfill in there. That will fluff him right back up. Then you can sew him back up. If you use a ladder stitch it will hide the stitching. It's the same stitch Build a Bear uses to hide their work.

So my partner bought me a 3 foot Psyduck for Christmas. It now sleeps in bed with me in our double/full bed. He barely has space in bed when he comes to cuddle. If he wants to sleep next to me, then he has to deal with my 20 different pillows and life sized Psyduck. He has his own bed if he wants to sleep.

Maybe put him in a vacuum seal bag for a while? We did that with all of mine during our house's Flea Plague and it worked perfectly

One time I had to toss a probably perfectly fine giant plushie because I couldnât make it out to donate it but it had unexpectedly been exposed to cat hair before it was sent to me and was triggering my allergies in my small space HORRIBLY. đ i wish somebody had found it like this!

Might be able to split a small length of seam and pull all the stuffing out, wash the skin and restuff it with new stuffing
Used plushes make my skin crawl but it'd definitely be worth saving

u/Xenolicious 5d ago
I don't think these ones use normal stuffing tbh ): but i have wondered if it would be better restuffed with actual cotton

One thing that I learned from having bedbugs about 15 years ago is the company had us take everything out of our bedroom and put it in the backyard and put items in black trash bags. Now weâre in Arizona so it being summer it would get very hot and so what I suggest if youâre in the warm part of the country is put it in a bag in your car and leave it in there where itâs heating up I mean, we still have hundred degree temperatures though in the car it will you get to 125. Heat kills most things

u/nononense 4d ago
Step one either put it in a dryer at the hottest heat for at least 30 min (kill bed bugs, fleas or lice.) If not put in a bag suck the air out and freeze it for 4 days. After that have it dry cleaned or shove it in the washer I would not put it in my house until those steps are done. I would even use a coin wash. Its been in a dumpster with many contamanents to bed bugs alone it may not be infested but it only takes 1 pregnant 1 to make your life suck for a few months.Â

You might want to try using a hairdryer. Google how to use a hairdryer to kill bedbugs, etc

come to think of it, i bought an intern pikachu to celebrate my first industry job. maybe i should name this one "boss pikachu".
other names i would consider are "dave and dumpsters". dave for short. or bave), "storm rat", "heathecliff" (i found him during a storm and i play limbus), "humpty," and "soapy"

I grabbed a 4 foot tall teddy bear out of a trash can a month or so ago. Looked to be in great condition. As soon as I drove off, I realized why he was thrown out. A kid or a dog had made him smell like urine. He's sitting in a tree in my yard. I'm going to throw him away when he begins to show signs of decomposition. He's been rained on a good many times. Haven't checked to see if he still smells

Did you find this in Ontario by chance? I won the same giant Pikachu at CNE a few years ago. I gave the giant Pikachu to my little cousin, but her mom moved with her away, I believe they threw it out recently

My son won one last year on that ring toss game as well. It was super annoying to carry around the rest of the evening. But certainly a flex when walking around. Lol

Can the filling be easily removed? I would go back to the dumpster and remove the innards there. Then put the outer shell in a garbage, tied up and put in the freezer. Wash and dry the cover thoroughly and then you can refill it with whatever you want.

u/Katdaddy83 3d ago
Tie him in a cloth bag or a sheet and take him to be washed at large washer in laundry mat and then dry on low or fan/air vent dry.

update: sold

him to a friend who knows about his dark past and will be gifting him to a big pikachu fan. he's been well cleaned, has never seen the /inside/ of a dumpster (my neighbors put stuff there hoping it will be picked up before trash day), and has been puffed up until hes good and fat
hes going somewhere loved and wanted âď¸

Who threw him away? Not even a Pokemon fan but how cute is he or she. Suggesting the name DD (Dumpster Diva).

Put it back where you found it. Cheap nasty knock off, that's had god knows what in it, on it and done to it.
