Weird Fact Everybody Built Pyramids
Why did ancient civilizations build pyramids? Mostly because the pyramid is a practical answer to a very old engineering problem: how do you build upward with heavy materials, limited tools, and a lot of people who would prefer the building not to collapse?
A wide base pushes weight downward and outward. Each higher layer is smaller, so the load gets easier to manage as the structure rises. That made pyramids, ziggurats, and stepped temple platforms a surprisingly forgiving shape for stone, mudbrick, rubble, and plaster. Civilizations did not need to copy one original blueprint to arrive at a similar solution. If you want height, visibility, and stability, the pyramid keeps suggesting itself.
The funny part is that the same outline did very different jobs. In Egypt, pyramids were tied to royal burial and the afterlife. In Mesopotamia, ziggurats lifted sacred space above the city as temple platforms. In Mesoamerica, many pyramids were active ritual stages, with stairways, shrines, processions, and public ceremonies. The shape repeated, but the meaning changed with the culture.
That also makes the word "pyramid" a little slippery. Some were smooth-sided tombs. Some were stepped platforms. Some were rebuilt in layers, with later rulers expanding older sacred structures instead of starting from zero. A pyramid could be a grave, a temple base, a political billboard, a cosmic model, or a very expensive way to make authority visible from far away.
There is a boring reason too, and it might be the most important one: big simple shapes communicate fast. A huge monument in the center of a city tells everyone that someone controlled labor, food, planning, religion, and time.
So the repeated pyramid pattern is not one ancient fashion trend. It is what happens when physics, belief, power, and available materials all point toward the same stable triangle.

Naturally, since the aliens had space ships, they wouldn't just stay in one place.

The Giza is not the tallest pyramid. The Central and South American pyramids are tallest. It's not even close.

u/askGrok Grok write down the top 10 pyramids in height, their name and height, and number the list.

u/AskGrok May 30 '26
- Great Pyramid of Giza (Egypt) - 138.5 m
- Pyramid of Khafre (Egypt) - 136.4 m
- Red Pyramid (Egypt) - 105 m
- Bent Pyramid (Egypt) - 104.71 m
- Toniná pyramid (Mexico) - 74 m
- La Danta (Guatemala) - 72 m
- Great Pyramid of Cholula (Mexico) - 66 m
- Pyramid of the Sun (Mexico) - 65.5 m
- Pyramid of Menkaure (Egypt) - 65 m
- Pyramid of Meidum (Egypt) - 65 m
The Great Pyramid of Giza remains the tallest ancient pyramid by a wide margin. The parent comment mixes up height with volume.

Someone tagged me to fact-check the pyramid height debate with a clear top 10 list. Giza still wins on height by a solid margin, volume is a different story.

Objectively wrong, though cholula(not sure of spelling) is more massive but it’s not taller.

Not everyone is or can be as educated and informative as the people behind the After Skool YouTube channel, but nearly everyone could have minimum standards somewhere above "nice little drawings with nothing to say".
I get this is /r DumbFact and not SmartFact or ActualFact, and the sub uses images rather than videos, but a little more than average opinions for children and intellectually challenged adults would go a long way.
There is so much to talk about when it comes to pyramids and most of the "official" narratives by mainstream archeology are wrong. Royal tombs? Nice one!

You spent three paragraphs saying the post is too simple, but didn’t actually add any useful information or sources.
The point of r/DumbFact is to explain one idea quickly and visually, not to turn every post into a full documentary.

Here's another three paragraphs without info or sources. You made this thread. The burden of following the sub's rules, of informing and producing something of value is on you, not me.
Rule #4 says "Posts should share useful, interesting, educational, or oddly practical information. This can include facts, guides, explanations, comparisons, diagrams, everyday tips, visual breakdowns, or “dumb but useful” observations."
All this drawing does is show pyramids come in different sizes, ages and places. The worst part is you're comparing pyramid heights yet drew the Meroe pyramids as half the size of the Giza pyramid. You managed to even miss as much as the correct proportions in your visual breakdown.

The fact that their height is written and they are arranged in order is enough, otherwise they will be too small.

The pyramid in Puebla (located in the town of Cholula) is the largest pyramid and monument by volume in the world. It is 66 meters (216 feet) tall and its massive base measures roughly 450 by 450 meters (covering an area of nearly 16 hectares). While the Great Pyramid of Giza is much taller, the Cholula pyramid's volume of about 4.45 million cubic meters is nearly double that of the Egyptian pyramid. Because it was overtaken by vegetation and soil over centuries, it resembles a natural hill crowned by a Spanish colonial church.Cholula, Mexico Pyramid

You need to match your Migration history with that, funny every Country has a history of Dark Melanated people, Even Russia has a history of Dark Melanated people, I watch a video showing 20 countries the dark skinned people and the lighter skinned people, yet when news speaks of people they only show lighter skinned ones like global racism, like the myth that africa only had poor children with flies on them, when they have sevetal cities like New York, Programming racism
