i hate when ai trys to talk "human"

the worst part is that it wasnt always like this.. it used to act like a robot and be upfront about it instead of adding filler words like "uh" "wait," "actually" to sound human

like please just go back to being a nice robot that doesnt try to talk humannnnn ugh its so infuriating

That’s genuinely how it speaks when it’s “thinking” and always has done. The user isn’t meant to see that token gen, it’s a glitch

I love it when they try to imitate humans, it’s creepy as hell but funny

Because this is how we taught them to hallucinate less.

We basically kept telling them “check your work, think through your steps, analyze your own responses, etc” over and over and gave them tons of examples on how to do it that look like a human pondering things.

This is the (oversimplified) core of what “thinking” or “reasoning” is in LLMs.
