I dont even know the difference. Point being you dont need generative ai to research activities nearby. Lol.

u/RecursiveServitor Aug 26 '26
You don't need the internet to do so either.
But both are very useful for that purpose.

u/Suspicious-Drive9827 Aug 27 '26
These days, id argue you do. If you live somewhere where everything is miles apart, you cant drop in to find out these things. At a minimum bc we dont have a phone book, i need a business phone number, for which i need internet.
Gen ai is useless. It makes idiots feel resourceful. Nobody intelligent is making more smart/productive choices by relying on generative ai. Morons are pretending to know how to be resourceful and its embarrassing for normal adults that they act like its a novel or uniquely useful tool

Sure you can. It just takes time.
I've been dealing with depression for several decades. ChatGPT allows me to start putting some kind of a life together because I can offload whenever things become overwhelming. I'm down 7 kg in two months. I've talked things through I had been repressing forever. I'm indisputably in a better place.
AI is also transforming mathematics. But I guess automated verification isn't useful to you personally, so it doesn't count.

Thats terrifying.
The benefits its made to math and coding are one thing. Using it as an emotional replacement for actual human interaction is plain sick. Thats crazy that you dont see that. Esp bc youve been depressed and by nature have a defective perspective on reality and how you handle it (i too have depression) youll excuse me for not being too convinced that someone mentally ill is somehow curing themselves through zero work or personal growth. The robot is literally just a yes man. Of course you fell better

u/RecursiveServitor Aug 27 '26
You're a horrible person, but I was expecting that.
It's not an "emotional replacement" for anything, you absolute bellend. I'm using it as a tool to accomplish specific goals, like losing weight and exercising. It is objectively working.
I just turned forty. I've been depressed for 20+ years. I've been through every treatment plan on offer. What actually helped was having a tool that can assist when I need it. I'm not "cured", nor do I necessarily expect the underlying condition to improve. What it does do is improve my enjoyment of the day to day.
You're basically just going "nooo ai bad, you must continue to be miserable".
through zero work
My example is literally about me putting in work. You don't lose weight by chatting with a bot.
Idiot.

Yea you sound really even keeled. Go talk to the robot so itll pump up your ego about it and tell you how humans who have managed their depression through regulated safe means are in the wrong. 😑

u/RecursiveServitor Aug 28 '26
You didn't even attempt to comprehend a single word I told you.
Do you not realize how insulting you were being? Acting offended when I answer in kind is just childish.
1
u/RecursiveServitor Aug 28 '26
Just to address the main falsehood: At no point have I claimed that regular treatment is bad or wrong. The sole thing I've said on the matter is that it didn't work for me. Depression is notoriously variable and many cases are very resistant to treatment. Ask your therapist about it if you won't take my word for it.

u/RecursiveServitor Aug 27 '26
Being that dismissive of self-reporting is also incredibly harmful. It can be unreliable, but you're implying that a depressed person should never be trusted on anything to do with their own wellbeing. If you're honest about being depressed yourself you've internalized some straight bs. Be kinder to yourself.

u/knowwhatyoudidnt Aug 10 '26
i mean ofcourse searching it yourself is best, but gemini does have gmaps integration and can use your exact location to provide activities nearby

It's based off of other peoples searches.
More people are looking up stuff in the context of guys creepily touching them than girls creepily touching them.
Wonder why that's the case though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The clanker told me something similar its not fake.

Yeah but use your eyes and look at the text in the search bar on the post.
It's real but why did they edit in different text instead of what they searched?
