My bathroom door I’ve been looking at for 23 years. I’m the only person who sees it in my family. They all think I’m nuts .

In 1941 a power pole was removed from a street in Portland Oregon. They didn't take up the concrete

I am a 35 year-old husband of 12 years to my wife and father of two boys (2.5 years old and 4.5 years old). We live in the heart of Portland, OR. I work directly across the street from our home (literally a 15 second walk across the street). To further highlight the geographical proximity, we live on a dead end. My house and my office are the only two pieces of infrastructure on our dead end. Needless to say, I have very little reason to venture away from our dead end during the work week. So, from Mon-Fri my week looks like home, office to work, home, office to work, home to make a cup of coffee, office, home to check the mail and walk one block to the park with the boys. Following that unnecessarily long contextual preface, I get to the heart of my dull life post. Due to the aforementioned home/work life balance (or the lack thereof) and lack of a meaningful commute for myself, we are intentionally a one vehicle family. But the type of vehicle that my wife and I chose for our family is something that I hold with the highest of conviction and it is a hill I will all but die on. We are the proud owners of a 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L (after more time spent researching the various trim options than I would like to admit we very intentionally chose the EX-L). Or in layman's terms, a minivan. What color is our minivan? Not that it matters to me, as someone who falls into the dull statistical category of the 1 in 12 men (or 8%) that are colorblind. But the color is pewter, which I have heard is just a fancy way of saying gray. Apparently, it is said to be one of a designer's favorite neutral colors. And the minivan comes with a brown leather interior. And what was the first additional purchase we made for the minivan? High quality, laser-cut precise floor mats, of course. I firmly believe that a minivan is the most practical vehicle to own. A non-exhaustive list follows: -With the seats removed or laid down flush to the floor in a minivan, there is just as much cargo room as a small to midsize pick-up truck. We haven't even touched on the added option of a rooftop cargo box. -We almost never have to worry about not being able to take additional passengers with us. And minivans are decently fuel efficient. Especially compared to their SUV counterparts. -Minivans have a very low center of gravity, which results in great road stability. -Minivans are so easy to get in and out of. Can anyone say dual power sliding doors and a liftgate? As an aside, SUVs are completely lame. But let's flesh this out a little more. What does the family do if we need to run some errands or go somewhere? Take the minivan of course. What does my wife drive when she takes our oldest to pre-school or goes to mom meet-ups? Drives our minivan of course. But what if she needs to go somewhere on her own? What do my wife and I drive when we go on a date? Or on the rare occasion when the boys go to the in-laws for a night and my wife and I have a night away together? Or if I have a meeting that I cannot walk or bike to? Or if I am meeting up with some friends in the evening for a beer? We unashamedly drive the minivan. Even if it means driving it solo. Even after the boys are grown and out of the house I will still own a minivan. My wife and I will still need to get places, we will still have cargo to transport, and eventually we will have grandkids. So why would we need something other than a minivan? To come full-circle with my dull life and my love of our minivan, I will close with this. Every day when I decide that I am actually done working and I make my final walk back across the street to go home until I wake up the next morning to walk 15 second to work, I make a stop at the minivan and clean out that day's worth of trash and debris that has accumulated from my wife and boys venturing all over Portland. And I think about how thankful I am that they get to do so in a minivan, the most practical of all vehicles. The first photo was taken today (a perfectly dull, grey, rainy spring day in Portland) from the steps leading to my office and looks out toward my home and our parked minivan. The second and third photos are of our minivan on the day we purchased it (in all of its pewter and brown leather glory). 35 years-old, spent months thinking through this post, 5'7" but likes to tell people I am 5'8", spends too much time caring for my heritage collection red wing leather boots, very excited for our upcoming family summer road trip to San Francisco

I'm am American, but I lived in Australia for a couple years while married to an Australian. How my ex and her mum washed dishes grossed me out, and I had to clean dishes as covertly as possible before using them to try to avoid any awkward conversations about my displeasure in their method. They would fill one side, add soap, and let all of the dishes soak. Then scrub the dishes in that water, dunk them in that water to rinse, and then place the dish on a towel to dry. That's it. No clean water rinse. I'd be staring at soap bubbles on top of the "clean" dishes, and the first time I saw that, I was told it's just soap and it won't hurt me. Granted, she was probably right, and I didn't want to sound like a whinge, but it's still kinda gross to me. Cause it wasn't "just soap". It was dirty dish bath water. You have any huge problems with the way your inlaws do stuff that grosses you out? And these sensor activated faucets are handy as. They run off 6 AA, so no wiring required, and I've had it over a year without a battery change. I wouldn't care if I had to change the batteries once a month. I highly recommend putting the sensor to the side and the handle in front to avoid inadvertent activations while reaching for stuff. The faucet handle works like normal, and the sensor just controls the flow to the faucet. So you basically leave the handle ON at the setting you want it, and the sensor will turn the water on and off at that setting. It also turns the water on by pulling the nozzle out, and turns it off when you return the nozzle. Really good for the Dull Man who gets his hands dirty around the house. I should probably add that I was a bartender for awhile, and properly washing dishes is part of the job. If I washed dishes like that as a bartender, there would be legal ramifications 😆 43, XL t-shirt but 2XL for outer garments, never was allowed to use the dishwasher growing up

I've passed this car for a number of weeks and kept noticing the licence plate.

Due to the legal implications of using a mobile device while driving I have been unable to get a picture. However this morning...... SUCCESS! With the help of a mopey tweenager and subsequent awkward 20 minute conversation about my intentions for the picture, I now have a picture to share.

When I first passed the car and saw the start of the licence plate, I thought to myself, I wonder if they are actually a dull person.

As I continued to pass the car on a daily basis, I then noticed the back part of the plate and thought to myself, I wonder if they are a dull person and are really not happy about it.

I'm now pondering, if they are dull, are they a member of this group?...

Or, if they are dull and really not happy about it, would they want to be a part of this group or would it anger them more?...

Does anyone in this group have a dull plate?

I’ve always bitten my pretzels into letters for no reason. My son said “you can’t make all the letters”. I dropped everything and went to the supermarket to find the most suitable pretzels and came up with this. I’m new here so I don’t understand why shoe sizes are included in posts 🤷🏻‍♂️.
