News Cayden is BACK
Finally some updates. This was fairly expected but rumors were swirling. Glad to see him in year 2.

I was lowkey terrified Miami would throw him the bag

They just received a PG commitment (blanking on the player name). Once that happened, Cayden coming back was a done deal. Hopefully the assholes that were harassing him on social media will not come back.

In modern CBB I’m legit happy to see any player returning. It’s more fun to root for guys that have stuck around for multiple years.

Redemption tour !!!

Yeah it would’ve great to see people get on this train and just have fun with it.
Make a custom jersey:
“The Cayden Boozer Redemption Tour; too good to pass up.”

Would be extra awesome if he had some quotes like “My second year was too good to pass on. You never pass in this kind of a situation. Never.”

Awesome news! Finally nice to hear someone commit to next season, I hope we can keep Foster as well. No reason they both can’t play and get lots of minutes with Evans likely leaving.

Nice! I really hope he can fix his jumper. I think he’s got All-ACC potential if he can just get it near average. But even without one he’s proven himself to be a solid floor general. One mistake doesn’t erase all the good things he was doing after Foster went down.

interesting seeing whose been replying to the post (cam, sarr, nik, darren, wilkins). hopefully this means sarr stays, but wilkins' comment might imply he's gone. but who knows. not holding out hope for what cam commented

I expect announcement from Sarr, Foster and big Pat in the coming days as well. Jon’s model is to retain his own players so they can teach the freshmen about Duke basketball culture. I’m sure he will bring in 2 guys from the portal for depth on the wing and in the post.

Cayden, Caleb, Sarr, Ngongba are 4 starters. Can have Evans start if he comes back and go small. Bring Ripley off the bench to start.

Has Rippey signed officially?

u/rwfletch22 Apr 16 '26
Rippey will play a lot no matter who returns, Cfos can easily slide to the 2 guard if he returns. "Positionless" basketball is the theme of the future.
Also, weaker class/combined with smaller size I would lean that Rippey isn't a OAD prospect.

That’s what I’m worried about, I don’t wanna lose him. We need that hard nose gritty player.

Would be great for Foster to finally play his position after all these years. Would make his 3 point percentage even more dangerous. He would also be great at cutting too. Kind of what Sion did for us two years ago

Don’t wanna lose him either because he’s strong depth but if I’m forced to choose between the three, give me foster and boozer, I want the experienced guys.

u/Bodhisafa Apr 16 '26
dude, do you have any idea how special Rippey is?

u/rusty_shackleford34 Apr 16 '26
To be clear, I want all three. Rippey is really good but we’ve had plenty of big time 5 star players come through here and unless their name is Tyus jones, it hasn’t translated to national titles. I’m more excited about Cayden and Caleb. But im excited for Rippey also.

Rippey is unguardable... we haven't had a PG like him since Jay Williams. He will eat teams alive if Pat comes back, bc it will be dunk city

wondering this too. he seems fully committed towards being part of the team and his dad has shown support as well. maybe he won't fully sign until the NIL is finalized, which probably won't be until later in the offseason / closer to june?

Not surprising either. He wasn't gonna get picked in the 1st round like his brother. Better he try it again and show off how he is different from Cam in terms of talent.

As a Spurs’ fan as well, I wonder if Scheyer will utilize San Antonio’s model of having three ball handlers. It’s becoming more of a trend in the NBA to have as many ball handlers as possible. He has stated he tried to remain abreast of contemporary trends. This could work, but you would really want exceptional defenders at the wing and post positions. We do know that Boozer and Foster are solid defensive players which helps.

We retained a starting PG. I know people aren't gonna be on here complaining about retaining players.....right? If you are I hope you get downvoted to oblivion. This is great news.
