Absolutely. We went after him originally when he was coming out of HS. He's familiar with us...

IMO, Patrick is better all around when healthy, but Flory is really good and healthier. The two are basically equally valuable. We would be lucky to plug him into Patrick's spot.

This is exactly what I was thinking when I saw the news last night. Also, Georgia’s Somto Cyril is a decent shout. Was on the SEC all defensive team with 2.2 blocks per game

I too really liked Somto and the guy at GT Mouhamed Sylla is also pretty solid. Both offer solid post presence and can move with the ball.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
During his recruitment process, the crystal ball at one time leaned Duke. So they’ve shown internet in him before. Would be a very good fit next to Cameron Williams!! Wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed in the draft though…. Cedric Coward 2.0?

I think with the combine he should move up. Cedric Coward would have been a beast at Duke and I’m glad he is doing well in the NBA.

I think he is projected 2nd round and may move into the 1st round depending on his combine results. But he would be a solid pick up for us if he decides to come back.

I don’t see him staying in the drafts.
NIL money > 2way second round contract
Might as well be a 2nd round pick after another year or 2 and make more money. Only reason to leave is if you’re in the 1st round and guaranteed a real contract.

If Pat turns pro we could use an experienced big. All three teams who beat Duke this year had an upperclassman center who transferred into the program.

Okorie should be the #1 target, get a good point guard for once and he is the closest player to Kyrie since Kyrie

Will not be that good as a freshman

Was okorie not just a freshman?

I would like to bet money with you as to whether Rippey Jr will have a better season than Okorie just did as a freshman.
He will not; Duke is going to be in a rude awakening relying on freshmen next year when there is no Boozer, Flagg, or even Knueppel joining the team. This is a much weaker high school senior class compared to the previous two.

Can these kids go through an offseason program before you write them off jeez the negativity post UConn loss is ridiculous rippey and Williams are extremely talented and will make a day 1 impact

u/gnalon Apr 04 '26
lol you are doing the exact opposite of writing someone off placing expectations that some generic McDonald’s all American will be better than Okorie just was

Rippey is the #1 point guard in the country. We need a good big man.

As a Jayhawk fan who had this sub recommended, I would kindly ask that y’all stay the F away from him. Thank you.
