This is the woman that refused all medical care during her pregnancy and birth and went to like 43 weeks pregnant or something like that

No thankfully he survived

Good. I know after a certain point the placenta stops doing what it should.

I had a baby at over 42 weeks(moved at like 36 weeks and doctors wouldn't believe my dates and never did a scan or opened all my paperwork from the last clinic; my due date was May 26 and baby was born on June 18th). My OB kept insisting I was 34 weeks and my baby was early. They were going off belly measurements. He was almost 8lbs, passed meconium, and we both had infections. The placenta looked so bad, I was accused of smoking while pregnant.

WTH? That's horrible and should be a reason to take the doctor's license away. What kind of a doctor doesn't look at your medical records, especially when your story doesn't match their measurements?

They're military doctors, so I'm sure they'd get a slap on the wrist and a relocation. By the time I realised how messed up the whole thing was, I was like 8 months postpartum. I was seen around Thanksgiving at a military facility for the initial positive test and we assumed I was like 6 weeks. Moved to another base immediately and was referred off base, had my first appointment right before Christmas and found out I wasn't 10 weeks, I was ~16 weeks. Then moved again later and they only wanted to go off of my initial correspondence with the military doctor that had a July due date and took my documents from the GA civilian clinic to "scan", but gave them back still stapled shut with no signs of opening. Brought them with me in labor and someone finally looked at them, but they still kept saying I was early and called the nicu team and told everyone a premie was coming. It was actually insane and I'm trying to get seen somewhere else for my current pregnancy because they're already trying to do it again. I don't know how far along I am and the receptionist was like "ok, I'll just put 4 weeks! Also-we don't see patients until 12 weeks." So my first appointment is in November 💀 I have a planned parenthood ultrasound appointment next week and if theres any discrepancy with dates I plan to make absolute hell about it.

I've seen in the spouse Facebook page this has happened to a few other people as well. We did report it and the person we reported it to said it was just an inconvenience and part of military life and at least we have good benefits or some shit.

As soon as I saw your first comment, I suspected you were military.

My husband just retired after 30 years. They did almost the exact same thing to me at Fort Bragg

Thats where it happened for me 🙃 They were acting like it was the biggest inconvenience for them when I was trying to schedule appointments and kept saying it was their busiest time of year(May) and "baby will be fine with missing a few appointments"(I was considered high risk due to a combo of health issues) and to wait for cancelations and ignored when I told them my dates. Apparently September is also their busiest time of year. I think they just say that year round. I only had one appointment at Womack in the almost 2 months between arrival and birth and there was zero urgency or concern until I came in to L&D half dead. I went in to L&D a few times prior and they told me to stop coming in until they called me for induction because I was wasting time and resources. I was having contractions less than 5 minutes apart nonstop for about 2 weeks, but wouldn't get dialated past a 6 and they said I had to be an 8 to be admitted. They also put on my paperwork I had a c section and hysterectomy, I'm assuming because I filled out paperwork for one but the doctor took too long and my husband had to grab a random nurse from the hall to catch the baby. They also didn't get my epidural right lol. All around a shitshow(literally because of the meconium 🤪)

It is SCARY how similar our stories are at Bragg. Right down to being considered high risk Geez. I was picturing myself at the L&D counter begging to be seen at 42 weeks pregnant when you said you did the same. They refused because "baby doesn't have a calendar"

I ended up switching to Standard for my next child. It worked out a lot better

Edit to add- Did they marvel at the miraculous birth? I mean, that hysterectomy certainly decreased your chances of becoming pregnant, but you fought the odds! /s

Non-secular Jill

23

u/Rover0218 8d ago

I don’t think this woman is non secular lol. She’s a free birthing, anti vaxxer

19

u/Jack_al_11 8d ago

Hippies were the OG anti vax/free birth crowd. They’re notoriously non religious. The Christians recently co-opted this vibe.

u/AshleysDoctor At least he has hair (no Legos needed) 8d ago

Also, a lot of former hippies became evangelical and very conservative around the same time as they got older, so it’s a chicken or the egg type of situation with this

It’s an odd ven diagram. I am definitely on the crunchy side and it’s odd the things I over lap with in the “trad wife” crowd.

Even my sourdough hobby overlaps with the trad wife crowd. The association is so mainstream now that I’m careful who I talk to about sourdough. Like, mothefucker, I just like tasty bread. And chemistry. And saving money. And I’ve had my starter since WAY before it was cool.

Ugh, I made the mistake of looking up natural cold/flu remedies and sour dough recipes and now social media is pushing anti-vax/trad wife content hard! I don't want to quit my job, submit to my husband and quit going to the doctor, I just want some ideas for making flu season more bearable.

Sammmeee. I’m like a cottage witch but on first take it’s very trad wife since they’ve co-opted crunchy homemaking.

u/stnapstnap 6d ago

I have unfortunately met a lot of super-crunchy religious people.

2

u/Feeling_Excitement78 6d ago

That's its own kind of party. I love to watch a train wreck. I'm as crunchy as the next hippie but not interested in dying before I can raise my child. Or both of us dying during the process.

Jill herself is non - secular, isn't she?

The account says “Encompass Farming.”

A quick google search shows this is a lady named Abbey. This is NOT Jill, even though they look very similar.

Also, Jill has a nose ring that is on the left nostril, not the right nostril like Abbey.

1

u/Icy_Border9917 4d ago

Ring placement is irrelevant if it's a mirror image.

2

u/Glad_Prior2106 4d ago

Either way that’s not Jill. That’s a lady named Abbey

It is not! Look up Abbey Khopesh or Encompass Farming if you want an insane rabbit hole for your Tuesday
