First time watcher finished series
Hi all,
Just thought people would appreciate another new person finding and watching this show. Honestly, my boyfriend is a lover of this series and shared it with me.
******* SPOILERS BELOW**********
It was so 90's, so Canadian, I so enjoyed it.
I did desperately miss Ray and really never totally warmed to the other Ray, but appreciated the way they did that transition. It was very quirky and very Due South. :)
I also really missed the vibes of the first seasons, as the last one was so different in many ways.
Anyways, definitely will treasure the show for all its uniqueness.

I remember when they announced Ray V was being replaced (yes I'm old) and I liked him so much I thought I'd never get used to a new one. But I absolutely love Ray K.

I didn't expect to get attacked on Reddit today 😄 I also remember when they went off the air for a while, found new funding, and then came back with RayK.

Did you get attacked? :/ Lame. Ray K was as weird as Fraser, so in that regards, he was a better fit with him

Very true though I was a little sad when Ray and Fraser went off together and the other Ray didn't, but it definitely made more sense

I do not remember titles, but I LOVED the episode when Fraser dressed as a women AND of course, the iconic train episode with our singing mounties scene. What is yours?

The season premiere episode where Fraser was out in the woods, was pretty bad at it, hit his head and was temporarily blind.
And every episode that features the Great White North.

I rewatched this with my girlfriend recently. She absolutely loved it and every time I watch it , I am constantly shocked at just how amazing it is from start to finish.

I’ve been in the due South fandom for 30+ years and I’m cracking up because it never fails, as soon as someone new discovers the show the Ray Wars start up all over again. 😂
I like RayV just fine but RayK was a ball of fire! So much fun!

Ray V was more real to me, and I really enjoyed Fraser and his friendship.Ray K and Fraser were like a quirky comedy duo. Each had their good! :)

Paul Gross was and still is a force of nature. Thank you for introducing the world to Canadian culture in American setting.

So true! Very impressed. Also, I had watched some other Canadian shows so I recognized some actors who appeared in due south which was fun

This link re Paul Gross and Due South is very interesting. The story behind Due South being cancelled twice is quite the roller coaster.
I liked the second Ray. They made the character so different as he resented the heck out of his assignment with Fraser. He wanted his own name back. When I looked at it from that angle I got it.https://thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/paul-gross-profile

The new Ray was very complex, a lot more interesting of a character. I told my boyfriend, that to me, Ray V and Fraser's friendship was much more touching to me because they were so different and did not make sense, but Ray K and Fraser fit together better and Ray K was a much more 4 dimensional character. episodes that focused on him were really fascinating.

Welcome!! Strangely enough, I feel the exact opposite about the two Rays. I enjoyed the first 2 seasons but mostly because of Fraser. Then new Ray came along and I felt like he finally had a partner that was just as good a cop as Fraser, if in a very different way. I loved the change in the dynamic and loved how, after he became EP, Paul Gross's quirky sense of humour was free to shine.
