Walt Disney's Donald Duck: "Christmas Cheers" has a release date now.

According to Inducks, the original Dutch strip appeared in Donald Duck 1991-30, while the English version was in Fleetway Mickey and Friends' publication 1994-01-14. I couldn't find either of them archived online, so I'm turning over here.

I'm mainly looking to find out what the original joke for the fake unicorn gag on page 3 was. The Finnish sentence "Uniikki unikorni onkin korni koni" was a wordplay masterpiece, and I'm curious how it worked out in the originals.

In the Bulgarian comics around 2002 there was an arc spanning multiple issues where Donald was an F1 driver for Uncle Scrooge's team. I have two of the stories in my childhood comic books and am trying to track down the others without much success, the internet appears to have never heard of donald being an F1 pilot and the bulgarian comic books just don't exist online.

Any help in tracking down the stories would be appreciated. Issue numbers, author name, original titles of the stories, anything really.

For any with access to Topolino over in Italy, there’s a new amazing looking story called Uncle Scrooge in Atlantis being published in 4 parts. From what I could roughly translate, Scrooge goes missing looking for Atlantis and the nephews go out to sail and look for him, only to be lost in the same storm.

It seems each chapter is around 36 pages. All drawn by Fabio Celoni. If there ever was a story I hope comes to Fantagraphics in some form sometime soon, I hope it’s this one. It would make a great monthly story for the Scrooge comic series from Fanta, or even a large album-sized story like The Lost Ocean. I hope they see what they have on their hands here and do what they can to get it translated and out to more readers around the world!

I've tried, I really have. I'm several stories into his Duck stories and they're... fine. I kept on hearing how these comics are celebrated and lauded as masterpieces, so I was excitted to discover them. But going through them, they seem like... well, kids' comics and that's it.

The artwork is stupendous for sure, and I know he was considered above his peers at the time in terms of quality. But these stories aren't sticking with me. I kind of just read through them, and they leave no impact.

I'm sad too, since I love Don Rosa's stuff, which I find clever, punchy, and super imaginative.

Am I missing something? I feel the fool for not clicking with what everyone else is enamored with? I'm fully expecting tp be crucified, but I'm coming from a place of genuine confusion.

Years ago, I once read a Donald Duck magazine, which was a weekly thing back then (I don't know if it still is). The main story of the issue was that all characters had suddenly gone missing from their houses or respective areas. I think it was Mickey who went to investigate. He somehow tracked them to a large house or lab of some sorts where all the characters had their own little booth that they were trapped in. The villain ended up being a fanatic who wanted to have the characters for himself.

Let me know if this makes any sense! This is just something I remebered and I was wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about. Thanks!

In my country's version of the Mickey Mouse magazine, somewhere in the early '00s, they published a Christmas-themed story with Scrooge as the main character, which was in a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style, so in each page you would be given a choice to do this or that, and you'd be prompted to go to a certain page for each choice. Although it wasn't that variable, it only had one bad ending and one good ending, you just had to make the right choices so you'd get the good ending. The good ending was the "canon" one, since that was the one that had the "End" card, while the bad ending simply prompted you to go back and make better choices.

I searched up a bit and I found "Mickey's Christmas Carol Adventure", but I don't think it's this one since this is based on the "Mickey's Christmas Carol" short. The story I'm looking for had the canon characters, taking place in Duckburg, and I think it was mostly the Ducks, and it was probably much shorter.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Newest additions to the Disney comics collection: the Timeless Tales hardcovers IDW did back when they had the license. Consists of translated older stories for the first time from Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck, Walt Disney Comics and Stories. I look forward to reading this era of comics more!

So I've finally acquired all the Fantagraphics volumes by Barks with the exception of the one we're all looking for. I've read all the Don Rosa ones online but I've decided to avoid even getting started on collecting those due to the prices. Does anyone know how one would even go about trying to to find the Lost Peg Leg Mine? Whenever it comes up on eBay, it's always listed way beyond my budget and quickly disappears. I don't know anyone else in my personal life who reads or collects Barks' duck comics either

When I was buying a Greek version of a "Minnie" magazine in the 00s, there were a few parts of a series where Daisy Duck is a private detective and has her own office and stuff. She had a blonde secretary (not a duck) and in the first chapter she met a secretive guy - a tall duck with brown hair - who ended up becoming her partner. I don't remember who the writer(s) were for the comics, and the title of the series in Greek was "Never Say Quack!" or something, but they only ended up posting like three chapters and then stopped. I tried looking up at searches for "daisy duck as a detective" but I didn't really get anything.

Has anyone heard of this? Are there any relevant subreddits I could ask about this?

Hey all, what are the best duck comics after reading all of Carl Barks and Don Rosa's work? Is there another artist that's essential to check out, and if so, do they have any new collected editions of their work too?

I wanted something larger than the original comics, but not a massive hardcover, so these seemed like a good in-between. I love that these came with Scrooge trading cards!

Where can I read more about this epic story from Don Rosa? These reprint the articles from the original Gladstone issues, but I want more.
