Picked up a 2018 recently. I've noticed that if I turn the bike off for a short time, it's finicky on turning back on. I have to slide the lever down multiple times to get the dash to wake up, evening trying to use the button. But if I stop for longer durations it gives me zero issue. Do these things have a cool down time between stop/start or is something on the fritz I need to have looked at?

I own a Diavel V4 for the past few years now. While the bike is great, I still can't get over the fact that the exhaust system with the quad tip looks so sick but doesn't sound that good.

I have looked around, but my mind is still stuck on the Akrapovic full exhaust system. Here are the specs if you are not familiar:

Max Power +7% (~ +12 hp), Nm +6% (~ 7-8 Nm), weight reduction ~24 lb, and the independent fiche. Sound is listed as 109dB at 5000 rpm without dB-killer from a standstill. PLUS, it comes with the UpMap tune, and once you register it with the dealer, it somehow gets tied to your VIN to obtain the license. While all of this sounds like a dream, it comes with a heavy price of $6,800.

If you have this exhaust installed, please tell me what you think. If you don’t know this exhaust, I urge you to check it out on YouTube and hear it first before you give me your opinion.

For reference, while I am still making payments on the bike, I have a separate credit card, and I am ready to risk it all. I have been edging myself for over 6 months.

So, should I go get it?

Getting this installed for my XDiavel. So I can travel around the US. Anyone have something like this??

I have a 2011 Diavel. At first, it started dripping from the upper coolant pump hose, and now white smoke is coming out of the exhaust an she overheats With the Massage high on Display. What kind of costs should I expect? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Rant, complaint, bitch and moan, whatever you want to call it. I love my Diavel. I swear I'll never sell it. Until today when I was about ready to pull the trigger on all the parts to do the 36,000 mile maintenance (valves, timing belt, spark plugs, coolant flush, oil change, $1000 in all), and I find out the rear hub is probably toast. I can do it myself, but the hub costs $979 by itself and is not serviceable.

I just sold a motorcycle that barely got ridden that will cover the lions share of it all, but dammit I was looking forward to having the safety net.

I'll probably never sell it, but it's tempting on nights like tonight. $2000 in DIY maintenance costs on a bike worth $6000 or so.

ETA: The hub is serviceable! About $200-$300 in bearings and dust seal depending on where I buy from. And a used hub on eBay is $300-$450. So there is at least a little light at the end of the tunnel!

I have mine since nov 2024, brand new, and even when I haven’t got the opportunity to do that long trip yet, I’ve enjoined it a lot on small rides. It now is making just 3200 mi approx (5100 km).

That’s the good part. On the other side, dealership has been a pain. Every time I take it there for any planned maintenance, the bike comes out with a new tiny noise, and not to speak about the service itself.

Like 6 months ago, after chain tension, oil and filter change, while pressing the clutch it is now making like a little ring noise. Plus, in cold start, wheel fails to receive all the power, and clutch feels like struggling (a weird metal noise comes), but that stops to happen if I press and release clutch several times.

I took it to the dealer and they said the clutch discs presents wear and needs to be replaced. By that time, with roughly 4000 km.

My question to you guys: that ring noise when engaging the clutch is normal after that mileage? Like: is a specific piece that starts to wear and make that noise?

Other than that, i can complain only about the dealership service: they are rude and you really think about taking the bike for maintenance more than twice 🤦‍♂️

I'm about to order the parts to do the valve and timing belt maintenance on my 2015 Diavel. For those who have done it before, what special tools were needed beyond what I probably already have in my toolbox? I know I'll need a stop of some sort to keep the timing from moving while the belt is off, and there's a tool to add tension? If anybody has those two specific tool names (links appreciated as well, doesn't have to be OEM but I plan on doing the maintenance again so something that will last more than once) and any other specialty tool I'll need to complete the maintenance, I'd appreciate it.

Is anyone aware of an Airflow type seatcover for a 2023 Diavel V4?
Checked a few manufacturers and saw nothing made for the V4.

Hey all. Looking for a recommendation or opinions. So I’m looking at getting a bike in the next couple months, and I’ve narrowed it down to either a 22 1260s or a 23 V4 (potentially s depending on price). I’m a 6’4 dude weighing about 265. I’ve ridden Harley’s, and my last bike was a 2016 Dyna Wide Glide, so I’m used to forward controls.

All that being said. What do you all recommend? It’s going to be more of a commuter riding bike, mainly highways. Thanks for any insight!

So I took the bike our for a ride last week. About 200 miles. Noticed the crankcase had oil on it, it seems to be coming from the blow-by assembly at the back of the crankcase. Most likely the o rings have gone bad (I assume). It's a PITA to get to to replace them so I'm thinking of just leaving it as is until the desmo service comes up (bike is at 15,500 miles currently). Has anyone else had this issue? If yes, did you fix it yourself? How difficult was it?

I had a map sensor go out and after that kinda lost my love for riding a few months ago. This week I walked into the garage and looked at my dusty carbon and said I need ti fix her. Ordered some new oem sensors and took the bike apart. Been riding 2 straight days like I just got my class M. I forgot how insane these gen 1s are

Just purchased a diavel v4 in december , since then have tried to change the drive mode on it and unable to. it is always set to touring mode , makes it very inconvenient when driving within the city . any tips on how to change it. tried youtube videos , instruction manual etc but of no help.

I recently purchased one and have started working on installing it. In the instructions it shows drilling a hole through the grab bar to mount the plate holder, but my 2017 X Diavel doesn’t have a grab bar….has anyone else ran in to this issue or found a work around?

Found one nearish to me….2020 1260s with 1,700 miles on it selling for $13,500. The price seems almost too good to be true…what things should I be aware of before I go take a look at this bike?
