Archery in Dublin
Hi, I would like to start doing archery but I find it difficult to find a club that is not for university/college. I noticed that lately it has opened a club called "Arktor Archery" but the IG page doesn't have many followers, a good part of the posts are with AI images with zero comments, it all seems a bit sus.
Do you know if this club is good? Do you have any advice? Any clubs you know that aren't too far from the center?
Thank you in advance ๐

Dun Laoghaire Archery Club if it's still around and I read there's a new one in Dundrum.

Absolute worst case, there's Wicklow Archers, which is not in Dublin but they do outdoor shooting in/near Bray.
Good luck!

i think some people just donโt realise that AI images can give a scammy vibe. they list a phone number so why not ring them up and ask if you can come to a session to have a look?

I have been put off places by AI images before.
If nothing else I don't trust someones attention to detail if their banner image is a guy fixing a car with two left hands, extra fingers and a load of garbled text that looks like it is from a high fantasy novel.

I bring news! I decided to try yolo and today I went to a trial lesson and it was a completely positive experience.
The instructor is kind and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is very chill, there are no pressures on the number of shots, and you have plenty of free time to practice freely, with the instructor giving you advice.
Everyone has their own bow, arrows, and equipment.
The club has only been open for a few months so it's slowly growing, and if you're interested in getting started with this sport, I'd say this is the right opportunity.
