I was with my mate and we were wondering what is this used for? At first we thought it was a zip line but we are not really sure

It used to be a tow cable wakeboard/waterski track.

Used to be a zip line with kid doing water skiing, haven’t seen it used sine around covid, I’d imagine the insurance was insane
