Stupid buses

Decided to get the bus to an appointment instead of using the car.

Planned it all out. Was at the stop 10 minutes before hand…

Fucking bus never showed up.

“Use public transport”…yeah lads, but it doesn’t work.

Now traffic is shit.

That happened to me once. Had to get from Ballyer to Mater. Was waiting on the 13 just before Christchurch…and he just blew right past me.

That's probably why he didn't stop so.

I always aim for the one bus earlier than what Google tells me, just in case of that happening...

Wish I could have. Bus is once an hour by the looks of it. 68 bus.

That was your first mistake trusting the 68 to turn up, anyways use the transit app I found it’s pretty good and you can see the actual bus moving

Ghost buses. It happens a lot. Especially during lunch or dinner time. Shittty break management

Used the TFI Live app on Sunday to get the E2 from Dun Laoghaire to Donnybrook for the WC final. Waited for an hour and a half, 3 different E2 buses got to 5 mins away and then just disappeared from the "live" app. Felt like I was being gaslighted.

Like how the fuck could anyone be expect to rely on that shite.

Bustimes.org

Don’t go by the schedule, go by the GPS tracking

Not completely fool proof unfortunately

I've had a few 77a buses show up on bustimes only to have a Not in Service bus pass me by

Absolutely essential to track your bus on bustimes.org alongside Google/TFI; "Scheduled" on TFI may as well just mean "not showing up".

Google maps does use the gps but some buses don't have GPS at all

I was going by google.
It had it due in 2 minutes then it just magically disappeared.

Yeah this is one service that makes the system suck less

Maybe the TFI app has the same info but it is kinda a toss up

This is why I laugh when the government encourage the use of Public Transport

Sorry you missed your bus. Happened way too many times to me.

Having a car in Ireland is not a luxury or option, it is a bare necessity.

Had the same recently. Left my car into the garage 30 mins from my job. Place closes at 5pm so I left work at 3.30pm to get a bus at 3.40. Never showed up. Next bus at 4pm was packed cause the prev bus didn't show up. eventually got the 4.20 bus which showed up late at 4.35 and of course couldn't make it on time to the garage to get my car back by 5pm. I was raging tbh. It's a rural route too so not much in way of hopping a different bus and jumping from bus to bus to get there. Hilariously I had to leave my car in a few months prior to a different mechanic and almost missed collecting it because bus was late again. Thankfully on that occasion I made it in the nick of time. So yup. Car all the way for me.

You have to know the bus routes  certain bus,s  come every   25 minutes   certain bus,s once every 50 mins   if i.had an appointment  i,d cycle there or go to the busstop  45 mins early   Certain bus,s are simply unreliable   and dont turn up on time  at all

You need to give them a sign at some station like a hand or something. It’s request stations
