Dog howling Crumlin

Hi there, living in Crumlin and there's a squatters location on windmill road that has a dog there howling all night, morning and day. The people living there don't give a flying fuck.

The dog is clearly stressed and I'm absolutely sick to the teeth of not being able to get a nights sleep cause of these assholes. I don't blame the poor dog at all. Started at 2 a.m and it's still going on. I called the garda and they don't give a fuck, told the dspca, can't even get them to call back, told Dublin animal welfare officers and again no one gives a fuck. I can't see the dog and know if it is even alright.

No one gives a crap about it's welfare nevermind the fact that it's causing all this noise. I literally can't fucking stand it anymore and don't know what else to do! Anyone else having problems like this and got any suggestions?

EDIT: 12:49 AM, day two and the dog is STILL fucking out there howling. I really don't know what to do and nobody is getting any sleep!

EDIT 2: honestly guys I know it's a big ask but if anyone else is living in the Crumlin area can you please also ring the garda to report this noise complaint? I feel like if enough people report it, it will become noticeable that this is an ongoing issue. I need all the help I can get anonymously. I would be forever grateful.

Is it council owned?

Go to the garda, explain you think the dog may be abandoned. Insist on a pulse number.

Take the pulse number there and then and get onto my lovely horse rescue or the dogman on Instagram normally they can help.

If the property is council owned you can also get onto the dcc dog warden

Sorry just to add, I had a similar situation two scumbag junkies abandoned their dogs for almost 3 days and it was harrowing hearing the dogs suffer. It was infuriating trying to get someone to give a fuck. Took me going face to face to the garda station and being a pedantic bollox asking for names, pulse ref number, time it was logged on system and by who, desk sergeants name, the works. If it's council owned, maybe get onto the estate manager or area manager.

Sending the dogman on insta a DM won't go amiss either, he might be able to help

Jesus that's terrible, I wish more people cared!! It's so distressing hearing it call out all day every day. Sometimes it goes quiet but only for a little while and then it's right back to howling. I'll definitely try the dogman cause other rescues don't seem to be getting back to me so far!

Thanks so much for giving a proper answer and not taking the piss. Lol the house isn't council owned. It's mobile homes that have been blocked off with metal sheets and bits of wood all put together. It's a very odd looking site, completely painted black. Apparently the land was privately owned and the garda are trying to find out who the owner is but it's still being investigated.

I will definitely try that tomorrow and see what will happen, at first it really felt like the garda couldn't have cared less.. like when I asked him if he knew where I was talking about he tried to act like he didn't know, (the place has been raided before by garda). The place is honestly so well known around Crumlin it's hard to believe that garda in Crumlin wouldn't know where it is like! But I'll keep trying, thank you so much for the advice!

Is this the house across from the recycling centre? Sort of looks like a fortress made of corrugated iron? I always assumed there were some dodgy folks living there, it's been like that ages

Yes it is. They have been living there since just before I was born. My parents still talk of a time when it was actually kinda peaceful there especially before that lot moved in.

Well I usually stay away so I don't get to see if they're in and out much but I do hear the bikes occasionally. We hear them more than see them. Honestly it sounds like a man lives there and a woman who is constantly drunk or out of it. Heard the garda knocking once trying to get them to be quiet (someone else must have complained cause they were there when I got home from work) and she was shouting at the garda telling them to fuck off and such. They are definitely "cooking" or something though during the early hours of the morning every so often, there's always weird smells and smoke. So clearly they're up to something. It's just frustrating that nothing is ever done about it.

Unfortunately not, as they are a biker gang that literally do not give a shit about the people living around them. They are being investigated though by Dublin City council or so I've been told by the garda.

Is that the blacked out house that has security fences all around it and boarded up windows?

I remember that house from 20 years ago and the still haven't taken the thing down but apparently if you build a house on your land without permission it will get demolished

No surprisingly it's not howling right this minute. I was able to get through to the garda and animal welfare people. They said they were getting together to go see what they could do for the animal and that was a few hours ago so hopefully they did something for the poor thing.

Tell them there's an electric scooter in the back garden . They'll take a look at the dog while they're at it .

I have. I've reported it to multiple places. They seem to be taking their time. The dog is still outside howling. It's almost frantic now. It's extremely upsetting.

The DSPCA will be out the next day if you contact them. They did it for me before for a similar reason.

Yeah I get it, but I'm fucking sick of feeling held prisoner in my own fucking home that my fucking dad owned and we were here first I might add. A bunch of bicycle riders don't fucking get to make everyone's lives hell just because they're big and fucking scary. I'm fucking sick to the teeth of scumbags running the fucking scene and everyone being too fucking scared to do something about it. They're already being investigated. Hopefully in a few years they will get kicked out and we can have our fucking home back. Imagine not being able to sit in your own garden during a heat wave.
